  1. First one I tried was the Za'atar. For pita crisps. These are prior to baking, at 300℉, for about 10 minutes. Quite good.
  2. Decided to give a few La Boîte spice and herb blends a try: Probably enabled by the review of Lior Lev Sercarz's newish schwarma place, on St. Marks Place. Spice Brothers
  3. I roasted some peppers today; do many people use a Közmatik?

    Lunch 2024

Three salads: Chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad. Plus a pickle spear and greenmarket tomato. Wasa rye crisps.
  5. This is interesting, as a trick I sometimes use in a restaurant is to order a cheese plate along with appetizers (where it's often shown), and let it wait until after mains are eaten.
  6. I saw it too. RIP.
  7. Send it to @rotuts?
  8. I think the blade has a decent amount of clearance from the sides of the container; perhaps more of a misalignment situation? Per Ninja:
  9. McConnell's make my favorite ice creams. At the little bodega down the block, they're $11/pint. Expensive? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely.
  10. Looks like the low temp is 125℉. Your wish...https://newellbrands.imgix.net/551101bf-29f9-3484-a543-a247aad894e0/551101bf-29f9-3484-a543-a247aad894e0.pdf
  11. I didn't realize Wild Fork is Brazilian owned. But this article, about picanha, seems to suggest that:

    Dinner 2024

No broiling or torching was involved. I think it might just be the lighting and/or the herbs that are looking like the sauce was browned a bit.

    Dinner 2024

Ravioli (from Raffetto's). Sauce from me. Poached shrimp and scallop "cocktail." Cocktail sauce by me. Lani's Farm (one of my favorite farmer's market vendors) heirloom tomato and lemon cucumber salad. Drizzled with olive oil and aged aceto balsamico. Both cucumber and tomatoes are very good.
  14. He does???!!!
  15. I have a few, but I've heard this is a family friendly website.
  16. I think, depending on where the purchase is made, a Ninja Creami may come with different numbers of containers. My original came with two; I purchased an additional three containers.
  17. Maybe get two.

    Caesar Salad

Maybe some of them (above) were hand torn; can't remember (nor tell) from the photo.

    Caesar Salad

The only time I chop for a salad is for a "chopped salad," @rotuts ! Here is the Caesar, as served at Zuni Cafe (March, 2024). Small, whole, inner leaves.
  20. I have this one (eG-friendly Amazon.com link): And a Ninja Creami. The Whynter, while it undoubtedly makes great ice cream, has pretty much been relegated to the pantry. The Ninja, while it may not make true ice cream in the classic sense, is just so much more convenient, and as the dolphin who is blue mentions, one can have any number of pints prefrozen, ready to be spun at a moment's notice. 6 people happily shared a full pint of farmer's market strawberry sorbet on July 4th this week, garnished with fresh watermelon. 2 quarts sure seems like an awful lot for 2, 3, or even 4 people!
  21. We've eaten there!
  22. We've had fun times at both of these places. They actually had tables set up on the sand at Sal's the last time we ate there.
  23. Full bin this morning...
