  2. Nice, I couldn't pass that deal up!!! Thanks!
  3. Thermoworks moving sale. Save 15% site wide "MOVINGSAVE15" expires May 15th. Can now get one of the 2 channel units I've been lusting after!
  4. Sorry, I missed this. I have really liked the 215 and it has worked for everything I have needed it for so far. Did you end up getting the 115? If so how has it been working for you?
  5. I just got an Instantpot a couple weeks ago. I can't be much help on frying chicken as I have only done a few pork loins in it so far. I have read that they do not recommend pressure fried chicken. I was going to try a few things this weekend if I have time, I will get back after.
  6. I am not sure the height of the VP115 fully opened but can give you the height of the VP215. Here is a comparison of the two units so you know the measurements of the chamber and can guess a little on the height of the VP115. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/compare-products.cfm?item=120VMASVP215,120VMASVP115, The VP215 is about 23 1/2" fully opened from highest point, the backside closer to kitchen cabinets will be shorter. My guess would be 19" - 20"
  7. Does anyone have any experience with the Dynamic Minipro blender that could give any input?
  8. Use code ANOVAONE for $50 off the Anova 1 unit until 12/19/14. + FREE shipping
  9. It's been many years since I have been to one. I had one a mile away from my previous home about 10 years ago and didn't find it any better than the other grocery stores around. They recently opened a new one about 4 miles from my new home, I may have to check it out and see if it is any better.
  10. Here is the amazon link http://www.amazon.com/Anova-Sous-Immersion-Circulator-Black/dp/B00GT753W8?utm_source=Anova+Customers&utm_campaign=25949f6aa2-Goldbox11_5_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f33347b916-25949f6aa2-97443437&mc_cid=25949f6aa2&mc_eid=413dff1cac
  11. One other question? Is there a guide anyone goes by for sealing different veggies, meat, etc. on a VP215? We seal green beans and corn today. Just want to make sure time are correct for different items. This is for freezing. I would also like to know about fish or meat for SV. Any help would be appreciated!!
  12. I just got my VP215 the other day and wanted to flash pickle some cucumbers I have for family and neighbors, since I just received about 30 of them. Can someone give me a good recipe and possible times to try for this? Thank you and will share my thought and experiences with this on different foods.

    Pork Shoulder

I did 3 in the oven a couple weeks ago. I cooked them at a higher temp only because I slept in. I generally like to do 250 for 8 - 12 hours (depending on the size of the shoulder). Also move them around from time to time.
  14. You could always make a Pueblo Slopper, that's close enough to Denver. I was thinking of making some Slopper sliders. Double fry chicken wings, lil smokies are one the menu as well.
  15. I am planning on buying the VP215 after the holidays and have a couple questions for everyone. I need to make or buy a rolling counter area to set this on with the Anova sous vide stuff I have sitting under the tree. Someone posted a video here, not sure if it was this thread or the Anova thread, he had a similar table. I can butt mine up to the existing counter and have about 4'+ area I can use. Does anyone have anything similar? Or can you post any pics of how yours sits? I want to have something functional for when I buy anything bulk to be able to make work easy. Next question, BAGS is there any sizes that you feel are useless OR a need to have? I guess I should say 5 people in the family. Also best places to buy bags. Thank for all your help!!
  16. I ordered mine this last weekend and it shipped out on Monday. It came into my shop today and I took a quick peek, as it is a Xmas gift from my wife. It did not have a thumb drive or card for the manual, rather it did have a paper manual. I will try to snap a pic or two before my wife wraps it this weekend.
  17. I have only ordered a couple thing but have been very happy! Will be ordering a Vacmaster from them in a few weeks.
  18. I just ordered mine tonight. The only problem is it is a Xmas gift from my wife so I have to wait to play! New years should be fun though!! I already told her to get me another for my birthday in a few months!!
  19. I saw this a week ago on their FB page and have not figured out who is making this unit. https://www.facebook.com/PolyScience.Cuisine.Technology I have been set on the VP215 but am waiting to hear more about this unit, it does not have the oil pump the 215 has but will see what news they come out with. I will wait tell early December to order and decide then.
  20. I found where I read this. It is the first review by Steven, http://www.webstaurantstore.com/ary-vacmaster-vp215-chamber-vacuum-packaging-machine-with-10-seal-bar/120VMASVP215.html The 16" bar says it is for the 320 model.
  21. I have the Vollrath 59500P 120v "Mirage" Portable Countertop Induction Range and love it. I have had it for about two years now and it has never once shut down or misbehaved. One thing I love about it that has been brought up earlier in the thread is that the heat control has 100 steps and when I am simmering something like beans or spaghetti sauce for hours the difference in two or three steps usually in the 10-15 range is the difference between boiling and below simmer. You really do need a lot of steps especially at the low end. The only problem I have ever had is with my one quart sauce pan, It is just not quite big enough to be sensed by the coils and is often read as pot missing. All induction coils have a practical min and max pot diameter based on the coil size. I am very glad I opted to spend the extra dollars over the max burton that I was looking at. Do you know what the range is on temp. settings? 10 degrees, 20 degrees, 30 etc...Have you used the Max Burton units or something similar? I hate buying something that is $100 five/ten times when I could have done it up front and not had the hassle. Thanks for the reply!! edit: One thing I wanted to use this for is fondue. My wife wants something to have cheese or chocolate for parties. Have you done this? If so how did it work out?
  22. I have only been reading (for a long time), I now have have money saved to get a machine like this and do not remember where I read this. I am sure, how it is set up, will work fine for my needs. For some reason I thought I read somewhere that someone suggested to also buy a longer sealing bar. I can't find it now and do not see how it could be possible. I was going to order one in the next week and was wondering. Thanks for the reply!
  23. I was looking at the VP215 as others have and thought I read somewhere that you are able to change out the seal bar for another that would allow you to use a wider bag? Can anyone confirm or deny that? Thanks
  24. I have been looking at those as well. I was going to try and contact someone and ask some of those questions as mine were the same. They are a little cheaper here. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/vollrath-mirage-pro-59500p-countertop-induction-cooker-1800-watt-120v/92259500.html They had a few other brands that I may ask about as well. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/15055/countertop-induction-ranges-and-induction-cookers.html
