  1. The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them, changes both the maker and the destination. 14. Can we add some of the elements here. i think this will turn into great classic of all times.. we will need a name for this food flick
  15. Seriously -this --Shrimp is marinated in a ginger garlic paste, a bit of salt, red chili powder, turmeric and a touch of tandoori spice mix. Grilled in the broiler -- is the recipe.. it really is that simple. i add a touch of heavy cream sometimes. but that's it. under the broiler and the minute they begin to turn red. they are done. I have a few more shots.. let me see if I can upload them here.
  16. And her tandoor.. LOL
  17. tryska -- Name the hero??? Carolyn what would be the heroines name?
  18. this is going to be fun
  19. That would be a fun story. Not for this thread though.
  20. Monica This is one of the several ways I grill shrimp: Marinate shrimp in olive oil + red chilli flakes + lime juice + salt + chopped coriander. Serve this with ripe mangoes also given the same marinade treatment and grilled briefly (just till marked by the grill). Serve with onion rings, lime wedges and just a little fresh chopped coriander, for garnish. Man that sounds so good. I was really not a grilled fruit person for a long time... but I am coming around and seeing the fatal flaw in that thinking! Thanks for sharing this. What other types of marinades do you use?
  21. What route does he take? What transportation? What foods does he find on the way? Does he meet interesting people? Is he alone? Does he stay on the road side? Is he vegetarian? Does he meet tobacco chewing meat eating alcohol drinking thugs on the way Did his mom give him yogurt and sugar before sending him on his way did she pack him a meal? what did she give him?
  22. Which city is he heading to. If he goes to Delhi Vikram may hunt him down.. so does he head to MUmbai or neutral Bangalore
  23. This thread is inspired by Best Indian food movies I thought it would be fun to cast and direct our own little Indian food movie. I have no idea how this will work.. but Mira Nair move over.. eGers are here.... Someone start a story and we will take it from there.....
  24. Oh yes.. that is funny.
  25. Vikram - I enjoyed reading your post. I agree with the villains part. Do you know what the significance of the yogurt is? Friends and I were discussing this very topic last night and interesting enough one of the things that came up is that food, when its shown, is typically around religious occasions or when a good "deal" is stuck (moo meeta kar loo) -- lets sweeten our mouths with something type stuff... I had not really thought about it that much before. Also a lot of the 80's movies will show people ordering sandwiches and cold coffee. One of the funnier scenes I was thinking of last night was when Amir Khan in Rangeela goes to a five star hotel and orders like he is in an Irani hotel. that was too funny. The expressions on the servers face were classic We watched Munna Bhai too.. my new fav as well. It was listed in the British Journal of Medicine recently.. let me see if I can find a link.
