  1. Good to see you back posting. I have no comment, I grow all my tomatoes organic. dcarch
  2. That is a lot of power to heat up a pan/pot almost instantly. 1. A lot of power requires a lot of copper to heat up and then cool down. Copper is in short supply and very expensive. That's why many wires and cables are made with aluminum nowadays. 2. High power high frequency magnetic cooktop, have they look into pace maker issues? 3. Many of my pots' and pans' bottoms are warped even on low heat cooktops. 4. For some people, it is nice to have a car with 1,000 HP engine just to get there a few minutes faster. dcarch

    Dinner 2024

One of the many dishes for the Lunar New Year of the Dragon dinner. Dragon roll sushi, with head and tail, as required by the tradition. Pot stickers to symbolize gold ingots for prosperity, also common tradition for new year. dcarch
  4. Soon, there will be tomatoes with Bacon and lettuce DNA . Just think how much time we can save making a BLT. dcarch
  5. Fantastic idea! I was thinking it would be difficult to sculpture a dragon's head and tail. But I can make a lobster dragon roll sushi with a lobster head and tail. dcarch
  6. I am thinking of making dragon roll sushi with pot stickers. dcarch

    Dinner 2024

I had posted sometime ago (a few years back) my system, but I have not been able to find it using the "search" function here. I can't take pictures of the system now because the new cell phone camera can't work with the LED flicker interference. Essentially, I installed solar panels to power about 1,500 watts of homemade LED lights. It has been very good for 5 years of growing. Thanks. dcarch

    Dinner 2024

Slowly recovering from stressful Holidays cooking. A very easy dinner for today. Sous vide boneless rib steak, popovers, on salad greens grown under LED lights. dcarch BTW, the pop overs were made with non-gluten flour. Very surprised how well and how tasty they came out!
  9. Welcome. Tell us more about NGO group kitchens. dcarch
  10. You may try one of the two below, gives you from 0 RPM to full speed: 1. If you have an incandescent light dimmer switch, plug in your mixer. (less than 300 Watts) 2. Get a PWM (Paulse Width Modulated) motor speed controller. (can be 1000 watts) dcarch
  11. The best knife can be forever destroyed in a fraction of a second if the fine edge is over heated. I would never take a knife for sharpening to someone operating a grinding wheel without using water. dcarch
  12. And bars for air conditioners. dcarch
  13. I remember traveling to Hongkong, and Europe, size-wise, this kitchen is middle -upper class. Here in the US, of course that kitchen is considered very compact, if you include a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a 4-burner stove/oven. Eat-in kitchens? No such thing. That's why entertaining at home is not a very often thing in other countries. dcarch
  14. It just occurred to me, a strange thing to me looking at the picture above, the counter on the window side, what's under the counter? No drawers? How can a kitchen function without drawers? I think something interesting is under the counter behind those door looking panels.๐Ÿคซ? dcarch
  15. Is dishwasher a common thing? dcarch
  16. HaHa! I found a mistake in your interior decorating. When I was in my Chinese friend's home, I asked what was a decoration on her front door. She said it was a symbol for prosperity, but it is the tradition for it to be hung upside-down. Yours is right-side up. dcarch ๐Ÿ˜
  17. The long and short of it, knifes are dangerous. Handle with care. dcarch ๐Ÿ™‚

    Dinner 2024

That is a serious exhaust hood above the stove for two burners, or is that also a microwave inside there? It that also an exhaust fan on the window wall? Looks like a very functional and bright kitchen. I assume the refrigerator is behind you where the picture was taken. dcarch
  19. I saw these, not entirely similar. https://www.especialneeds.com/shop/daily-living-aids/offset-utensils.html dcarch
  20. Actually I think that is a fork designed for people with limited hand mobilities. dcarch
  21. Buy a few for serving spaghetti dinner on April 1st. dcarch๐Ÿ˜†
  22. For those who can spend $1,082.67 (+tax) to smoke food, they all have big kitchens with lots of counter space. For poor me, I have been smoking many years with 2 smoke tubes I bought for $7.99 each. I spliced two together to get 12 hours of smoke :-). What would it involve if something goes wrong to have the thing repaired? Stupid. Throw it away and buy another one. dcarch
  23. To help window plants grow better, I used those so called "space blanket" and hang them with Velcro (so you can remove and hang easily) behind the plants. Those blankets are very very cheap. I don't have to do that anymore. I now have 5,000 watts of home-built solar powered LED system. dcarch
  24. Yes, can be flavorful and colorful and healthful and environmentally respectful A very popular dish I made for the new year celebration dinner party. dcarch
  25. Don't use woodworking rasp. They are made with hardened tool steel and can rust. Try Pedicure Rasps, same thing as kitchen microplanes. May be cheaper. dcarch
