  5. yes they are gourmet and cost about 8 dollars a bottle however the rao's brand uses san marzano tomatoes... you can find them in better grocery stores or fancy food stores...
  6. thanks a lot fat guy - am looking forward to reading this... at my last party I had a table in my living room ( appetizers ) that had grilled duck sausage and grilled smoked apple chicken sausage with an assortmant of different mustards including jalapeno mustard, pommery mustard, honey raspberry mustard and champagne shallot mustard...people could choose what mustard they wanted to add to their sliced grilled sausage... I still like grey poupon mustard on my hotdogs though...i cant eat bright yellow mustard for some reason...
  7. I also didnt like maille brand...Pommery, another french mustard, looked very cool, came in a great clay container, tasted good and had a great seedy texture however I got bored w it...probably since it came w such a large container... worth having once in a while though
  8. I love Rao's original Marinara - 10 Rao's Eggplant - 8 Patsy's 7 Dave's Gourmet - 8 Emerils Vodka was kinda bad but I want to try Bobby Flays sauce... What do you guys like?

  11. First off, I, too am from milwaukee- pewaukee lake to be exact and then wauwatosa...Kopps burgers are very very good - I love the pad of butter they put on in the end... we considered heavan on seven before your suggestion since it is in the Lowes movie theater - but Signs wasnt playing there and it is a pretty long walk when you are short on time...I love their gumbo however... Ruths chris we decided was too far... keefers we will check out when we have more time... billy goat - too much of a lunch spot and a little too cheesy for us... so we went to Blackies and, like you said, was good but we werent blown away...but it was a great burger... and yes we did goto the digital theater at mcclurg...there is no substitute...the movie SIGNS was awesome.... then went to le bar at the Sofitel to meet w some friends..very nice...and then to le Colonial on the balcony for a last drink and a few late night apps... good night and thanks for the input...
  12. aurora, going to signs the movie tomorrow night and want to go out for dinner before the movie... sice we are going to mcclurg i thought that we would check out boston blackies for a burger before the movie - havent been there but have heard good things my wife suggessted ruths chris - which we like and then i thought about keefers which i heard was good... any suggestions??
  13. Now do I say "thank You"? Then you would have to say "welcome " again being your second time...
  14. Although some think it may be touristy, Chicagoans love Big Bowl, especially the one on Cedar! The food is fantastic, the ingredients fresh and the prices reasonable! I guarantee you'll love it!
  15. Of course Charlie's Cookbooks are the ultimate food porn - the pictures are amazing! My new favorite is Rao's cookbook - great italian food and very easy preparation!
