  5. or these: your server brings the food and says "Ok, who gets the salmon?" my shrimp aren't deveined waiters who wear printed t shirts (like a Mettalica tshirt) under their white work shirt and it shows through in a party of more than 8 when they add the gratuity to an already confusing bill and they dont tell you or mark it appropriately quoting specials w out telliing u the prices when your main course comes almost too immediately after your appetizer or worse yet while you are still eating your appetizers...
  6. I hate it when waiters put their mini leather check - books in their pants under their belt in the back and then give it to you when its time for you bill...gross...

  9. tomatoes may indeed be a fruit but they sure act like a vegetable to me...and thus dont belong in a desert...imo
  10. tomatoe sorbet? Is it me or does this not sound right? I was at Charlie Trotters a few weeks ago and he had a desert...a corn cake or something w heirloom tomatoes...this, I dont care for...tomatoes w desert?!? or am I out of line...

  13. I agree it looks like babecue sauce and the beef is too dark and the rolll inst soggy enough w au jus running off of it and also a true Italian sandwich is wrapped in that paper that is soaked w oil from the sanwich...you know...

  15. gravy? as in like brown gravy? true italian beef sanwiches use au jus. If youre getting a sandwich w gravy its not a true Chicago Italian Beef, my friend. ANd what do you mean by "the works". True Chicago Beef sandwiches come w only one condiment: giardiniera - which is a mixture of peppers, oil and olives - you can usually get it hot or sweet...
  16. Hey Gordon, Never heard of Carms... The best known in Chicago are Al's Number 1 Italian Beef, Mr. Beef & Portillos's. You cant go wrong w these three..but Ill have to check out Carms...

  19. Hamptons Vodka is very very good and is the coolest bottle you can find, period. Its about $30 for 750ml but its worth it for the high quality smoothness and awesome bottle
