  1. No not a dumb question! Everything else you did was perfect. Cup of water, ramekins-greased on trivet and yes, I'd do it on manual at high pressure for 3 mins and quick release. Do a minute more if too runny. I like mine on the runny side. I think you can also use the steam button on high pressure but I haven't tried that way...at least I don't think I have.....my egg trials have been many lol. I've read where people use the low pressure and it works for them, too. It takes a bit of experimentation I think.
  2. I think you will have good luck using the manual button for 3 or 4 minutes on high pressure and doing a quick release.

    Little Rock

I just sat and stared at those dumplings for at least a minute. YUM.
  4. I used this recipe and I used this pan. I did not cover the top of the cheesecake with foil while it was in the IP. I've read online that people do sometimes. I just blotted any excess water off with a paper towel and it was just fine.
  5. Must be cheesecake day Oh my, I've never even thought about making a cheesecake. Seems far too complicated and they are so big that we would never eat them. Not true anymore. Using the IP could not be easier and, on the first try it turned out perfect. I'm a tiny bit proud of myself lol. Next time I will make more crust. I didn't have any graham crackers so I used Ritz crackers, butter and sugar. I want more crust up the sides. You can't make it too tall, though, or the condensation in the pot will make it mushy.

    Dinner 2015 (Part 7)

Okanagan, I assume you kept the popover batter in the fridge over night. Did you bring it to room temp then? They look wonderful. I will try the overnight method. Weinoo, beautiful beans and salad. Scamhi, ohhhhhh that egg is perfect. More oysters Oyster stew (with a bit of crab and shrimp thrown in). Put a bit of spinach in, too, cause I'm rebellious like that.
  7. Good to know. I'll try your way next time.
  8. Did the ham turn out nice and tender? Did you end up soaking it? Was thinking about you and hoping all was good.
  9. Oysters!

Sartoric, I love your crumb-catcher I almost asked where you got such lovely tomatoes and then I saw where you live. Summer time for you! Steve, lovely looking plate of seafood. LiamsAunt, nice looking chicken. Did some more pasta last night. Froze the rest. Wanted some pizza too.....tis the season for excess, right?
  11. I've tried for hours, too. I wanted a big lasagna pan. I can't get it loaded into my cart.

OH man, Norm, that looks scrumptious!
  16. Was very surprised to receive this for Christmas this morning! I haven't opened it up yet, but just from reading the box it sounds very similar to the IP. Glad I didn't pull the trigger and buy a second IP (yet). @blue_dolphinI, too, bought a second silicone ring. My mom and step-dad should be opening their IP soon. We'll see if they like it. I wouldn't buy them another "gadget" if I didn't think they would.....but you never know. The problem is going to be taking the time to learn how to use it. Mom is so so busy with work and other obligations. They live at a very high altitude (around 9,000 ft.) so I may have some questions related to that. I need to make a list of all the great IP links so I can send them over. Edited to add: Turns out my husband thought he had ordered an IP. LOL so he didn't mean to get this......I'm not complaining. We'll see if it's pretty much the same.

Scamhi, WOW those are some claws! Everything looks great! Okanagan, My husband would have loved to eat with you guys. He loves lamb. I need to get some and make it for him soon. And your popovers look perfect! Toying with making some here for tonight with prime rib........ We had venison taco night for the first day of winter. I could have just eaten the guacamole..... So last night I was going to a feast of 4 fishes but I discovered I didn't have any clams like I thought I did....soooooo it became a feast of 3 fishes lol. It was nice. I made pasta from scratch. Why did I ever stop doing that???? So much better than store bought.

    Frozen 'fresh' Pasta

I wouldn't thaw it, just toss it in the boiling water frozen. Takes a smidge longer to cook. I've thawed before and it turns to goo lol.
  20. Had an IP fail last night. I made crepes and I wanted rice to go with. I've had a mix forever that I've never used. It has white, brown, wild and red rice in it. I did 8 mins with fast release. Mush. I got mush lol.
  21. Yeah, WOW, nice!

    Rabbit

I was going to suggest exactly this except we cut it up and dredge in egg/milk mix and then dredge in seasoned flour. Then we proceed with a mushroom sauce. That stretches out Mr. Bunny a bit.
  23. More info please How long will you leave them before tasting? A week? SOOO yummy looking!
  24. I love reading your adventures THAT is a plate of BBQ. Looks good!
  25. We super indulged in the biscuits and gravy.
