    Par-Boiling Ribs?

hhmmmm. i'm not sure that that's a good thing necessarily!
  2. yup, i went to the original. i'll try to find the other (gotta find franklin lakes first i suppose!)
  3. i'm glad you mention the market basket. i have heard so much about it. i went in not too long ago, and was surprised at how small the place is. especially the meat display. i have to assume, however, that they can get you whatever you want with some notice?

    Cocktails before dinner

i much prefer if the reviewer actually *writes* the review when he or she is shloshed. i mean, i try to slug back a couple before i get on egullet every morning, in case it isn't apparent. ;)
  5. you don't know what you're missing. the taco bell hard taco supreme is very good! i eat them all the time. didn't think to mention that fact here though as i'm not really ashamed of it. perhaps i should be?
  6. without a doubt, the sausage mcmuffin with egg and hash brown from McDonald's (aka, #3). i can't even imagine how unhealthy this is. for the record, this behavior is generally tied in to a hang-over situation.
  7. nope. it turned out that we were headed the opposite direction. but we were looking foward to it, and we'll try to go next weekend.
  8. if my map is correct, it's just south of that circle (which for some reason i think was the first circle in NJ), which is just south of rt. 46. hope that helps! if not, try yahoo maps.
  9. i want to go today. can you bring beer!?!??!
  10. can you imagine how *i* feel? with this thought several times every, single, day! too many freakin smart people around here. i need a freakin dictionary to get through half of these posts!

and don't worry about ruining your hands. they'll grow back.
  14. so can i assume that acceptance speeches are being prepared as we speak?

    Fried Eggs

that sounds like and uber-egg-sammy. but i'm not *too* jealous cause jersey is the one and only home of the taylor-ham-egg-and-cheese-on-a-hard-roll, which is pretty much the most perfect thing in the world, especially when one is in, well, a good mood. ;)

    Fried Eggs

if it's not broken, it breaks when you bite into the sandwich and procedes to run down your fingers. gotta break 'em so they set a bit!
  18. i thought the show was quite entertaining. i must admit, i'm a little envious of the journey that tony embarked on. next week is vietnam (yay!). also, it was the first time i've ever heard anything remotely resembling "big f*cking tuna sandwich" on the food network. you gotta get a chuckle out of that. nicely done.
  19. went back to Wondee's tonite. it's just wondeeful. hehe. had the tom yum soup with mushrooms (no shrimp). it's cheaper than the tom yum koong, and it has lots of mushrooms. this is perfect for mrs. tommy, as she doesn't like shrimp in soup and *loves* mushrooms. had yum woon sen, mueng bean noodle salad with minced chicken. a *huge* portion, although it's probably meant to be entree size. quite good. roasted crispy duck with onion, pepper and basil was pretty good as well. chopped up totally crispy duck. fried basil leaves were a nice touch. i just love this place. :)
  20. YAY!!!!! i *love* Victoria's Secret!!! oddly enough, as i hit "reply" to type that nonsense, a vitoria's secret commercial came on the picture box. i don't recall ever seeing one. small world, err, or something. jason, please pass on any more info on this place. can't wait!!!!
  21. i've been to one of Willie's tastings. it was great. it was a "tour of france" or something. quite a good time. he's cool.
  22. ah. that clears it up...NOT!
  23. i give up. who is "GR"?
  24. so we're craving vietnamese on sunday, so we hop in the car to go to Little Saigon in Nutley. we get there, and they're closed for a private party!!!???!! now what!?!?!! decided to give east saigon in teaneck another chance. overall, it is not very good. the spring rolls are just terrible. i can make them better myself. the grilled pork chop, however, was pretty damned good. also ordered lemongrass chicken. it seemed a bit too "chinese" for me, but it was kinda tasty. a little too oily for my taste. i didn't bother with the watery pho. they don't have a liquor license, and i would have *killed* for a beer. oh well. i don't think i'll be back. of course, i said that the first time i went too!

at the same time is it wrong if a reviewer is a smoker? i doubt it. one could argue that her impaired palate is more keen than someone else's non-impaired palate. and there's probably no way to prove otherwise.
