    Beer with Food

what is the "etc."? i enjoy crisp whites with sushi. it might be imporant to note that i generally eat only tuna, yellowtail, and mild non-oily fish. and, i also enjoy the relatively sweet japanese style beers with sushi. saki, however, i never enjoy, although friends insist on drinking it when eating sushi. hot saki no less. i also like selzter with sushi, for a very "clean" experience. i feel so darned healthy after that meal!
  5. steven, at the risk of sounding sappy, you still have me.

  9. i tell ya, that jhlurie has been known to linger at table 45 for hours on end.
  10. i don't think in this case there's any confusion. perhaps with this fellow they are, as you foreigners say, "taking the piss". regardless, i'll ask. but with these irish guys, it's very hard to get a straight answer.

    Beer with Food

why does steve take 500 words to say what i said in 15.
  12. no i didn't. i just wanted an excuse to go off. it's been a slow morning.
  13. why would that be the best compromise? going out of your way to discuss an experience in an unnatural way because some might be annoyed at your word choice seems silly. the best compromise, clearly, is to have some sort of application that reads in the review and changes any offensive word (from your personalized list of offensive words) into a nonoffensive word, such as butterfly. for example: "The wench with whom i was dining had seared tuna, which offered layers upon layers of taste, and textures that danced around one's mouth like a ballet" would become: "The butterfly had really good tunafish" clearly.

    Beer with Food

i was prepared to make a similar statement about beer and pizza. then i thought to myself that i actually drink wine more often with pizza, and find that it is often a perfect match, so i was going to suggest that point ('specially pizza with aggressive herbal elements). then i thought to myself that there are so many (well, several) different styles of pizza, that generalizing either way would be foolish. so, i'll just continue lurking until i can think of something to say that isn't foolish. don't hold your breath.
  15. i'll have to ask him where he's from. just to be clear, i don't think it's spelled the same way, but obviously sounds the same way.
  16. is it not also a nickname for irish Patrick's, which causes me much awkwardness at my local, which has a bartender named patrick.
  17. [everyone, watch this...hehehe] hey =mark, what kind of BBQ sauce did you use on the ribs?

    Boiled Beef

i have to admit this intrigued me when i read it. but not enough to boil 30 dollars worth of tenderloin. ;) actually, i'll probably try it some day. i do, however, find it hard to believe that it's better than good ol' fashionded grilling. i'm a sucker for that cancer causing char.
  19. sounds more like a reverse dneirf to me.
  20. that may be so. but i think you all agree with me.
  21. i like the middle one best.
