vocals are generally fixed post-production, or after the fact. all of those heart-felt "mmmmm"'s. my friend was a child actor. he was in a commerical for a hamburger chain. that was about 35 years ago, and he hasn't had a fast food hamburger since, and doesn't eat many hamburgers at all. he says he ate about 50 that day. poor bastard.

you're right. you're smooth and polite. but it is nice you're sending people the clips. after all, it can only help business.
-
actually, i have and did. i knew nothing before a little while ago, and nothing comparatively to the people who are clearly upset by this. i haven't seen anyone use "fanatic", with the exception of me. and i never labeled that nice group "fanatical". you did not bother to read my post, but perhaps bothered to read into it. and you used "fourth" twice, so you actually have an extra point in there.

to me that does seem a bit hypocritical, although i know nothing of this "movement" or whatever it is. and i suppose members or followers would feel betrayed that satan himself is cutting bayless a check. i'm not so sure about the other points that have filled up these pages, though.

my dad always told me that you sell more wine clips with honey than you do with a baseball bat. just paraphrasing there really.

i'm almost afraid of the answer, but has he said that? and if he wasn't paid and said that would it change anything? and if he was paid by BK but didn't say anything at all, but rather only had his picture taken and put on ads, would that change anything?

if you take a right at fundamentalism you might quickly run into fanaticism.

if we found out that he resigned from the Board of Overseers (that sounds terribly Star Trekesque) before he took this position, would he still have "sold out"? i guess i'm trying to understand the definition of a "sell out".

you went already! Hmm !! Wait patiently .... from your comment, i figured you had the tasting already. the place is much smaller than diwan, that's for sure. my lunch the other day was very very good. and, of course, suvir, hemant, and team are gracious hosts. i'm looking forward to them sorting out all of their wines.

just more proof that you don't really know what you're talking about.

curiosity got the best of me. i, like bobrazil, was surprised at the small size, but only because the 3 foot picture at the drive-through made it look huge, and we naturally associate it with the other "long" sandwiches at BK, which are considerably bigger (and far nastier). it's just a bit bigger than a burger, but more filling. it's basically sauce, peppers, onions, and "grilled" chicken. the sauce was surprisingly zippy, a little smoky, and not too sweet. that's surprising for a place whose target is probably people who like sweet, salty food. the chicken wasn't dry, and the texture was quite pleasing. the only drawback was the "baguette", which was not crispy at all, but rather more doughy. a little too much bread for my taste, but the ratio was by no means all out of whack. the sandwich also doesn't "smell" like the rest of BK. BK's food, as many know, has a certain smell about it. this sandwich could have come out of any local sandwich shop. i think if i were a well-respected chef who loves and promotes artisinal food, i might be happy that a company that is feeding millions of people a day is offering this product. being just a regular guy who loves and promotes artisinal food in his own way, i'm *very* pleased they're offering it, and i'll probably have it again. i just hope it's semi-healthy, because it's hard to pass up a double whopper with cheese.

maybe to some. and probably not to some others. people like me who like fine dining, natural foods, and mcdonalds, are no doubt not bothered very much. i really don't see the dichotomy or the hypocrisy that others are suggesting. now either i'm really really special and unique, as i've always suspected in general, or i'm not alone.

i thought that covering the glass is something that is often done in wine tasting.
-
i can't believe that they charged twice for the same wine, assuming your friend paid for her bottle as well. stupid question, but, you didn't notice if the bordeaux and the rose were half glasses?
-
elyse, i was talking about the Corner Bistro style of burger, not the Jackson Hole type, which is what i assume jon was talking about.
-
he seems like he could be a scrappy little fucker, and could probably take both of you. bring extra molcajete.
-
was the 40 less than what the bordeaux and rose would have cost, thus giving you a break at the end of the day? i confess that i'm not sure i'm following, as i don't know how many were in your party and how many glasses were sent over, and how full they were.

we should break this thread out into 3. 1 for countertops, one for everyone's opinion on cholesterol, and one for eating well and healthy. i'll vote for sushi every night. good, and healthy.
-
this guy seems to have some very extreme viewpoints. i'm always tempted to take any extreme opinion with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to my health! Isn't the truth tempting as well? You should read the book and then let us know how you feel. the "truth" as some accept it. please let's not get ridiculous.

they need to get that website up. believe it or not, i'm not as tempted to go as i would be if i were looking at a website. open sundays?
-
i was just about to say that. oddly enough, every year when i take a look at my income, i can't help but think that i'm the one giving it in the ass to someone, rather than taking it. i suspect bayless, and a lot of others here, feel the same way.
-
good point. perhaps the only true "blind" tasting is when one's eyes are covered.
-
you clearly don't like that style of hamburger, which means you're not going to like a good percentage of the "best burgers" in NYC. you don't know what you're missing. and don't say you do, because you surely don't.
