    Winter Warmers

    Don't forget Neipoort tawny.
  3. WOW...The ones that stuck in my mind as I read your posts were: the frogs legs, the whole truffle, the soft boiled egg with truffle mousse and the supreme of pigeon!!

    Wine by the glass

how bout Bridge and Tunnel Looking forward to trying some of these suggestions in Nov...keep 'em coming!
  6. Don't suppose it could be added to the PNW-Alaska board? Even though it is in the Pacific and there are a lot of Japanese...somehow it just seems like it belongs in the North America listing...after all...it is first and foremost a part of the USA which is in North America. Not trying to cause trouble... just trying to make a suggestion.
  7. Could anyone suggest places in NYC to enjoy a good selection of better wines by the glass for "cocktail" hour?
  8. For all you Josselin fans who can't make it to the Islands, but do make it Las Vegas...try his restaurant "808" at Caesar's Palace....very good.
  9. This thread is a serious threat to my diet (and the fact that there is a KK basically next to the gym I work out at )...I may have to fall off the wagon tomorrow after my trainer beats my #$*%....mmmm, still warm glazed doughnuts and icy cold 2% milk (kind of like cheesecake and diet coke!)
  10. Lizziee....I don't see how anyone could not enjoy living vicariously through your reviews...I feel my hips expand every time I read one ...I know you walked a lot...but I would have had to walk across France to have not gained any weight and it would be worth it to experience what you and your husband enjoyed!

    Ouest

Thanks Schielke...but I was looking for the website of Ouest in NYC. Have had the pleasure of two dinners at Ouest in Vancouver...I am hoping this on is as good!
  12. I also found this review in NY Metro click
  13. Admin: the current active thread for discussion of rm may be found here. I read a Q & A with Rick Moonen in NRN discussing his new venture, RM(where Lure used to be). Has anyone been or heard anything? He mentioned he didn't "bring" anyone of the dishes he was known for at Oceana to rm...but was producing the same style of cuisine.

    Ouest

Anyone know if they have a website...
  15. Odd...no 20% tip was added to my bill....was it just the two of you or a large group? Sorry to hear things weren't up to your expectations .
  16. I was lucky enough to be in on the meal Fat Guy reviewed...it was a pleasure to meet SS and to enjoy a lovely meal. The chef is truly charming, and is armed with talent and a lack of ego that was very pleasant. Since FG's review was so perfect all I can add is I agree across the board with assessments...I will look forward to going again!
  17. Leslie...I loved Josie's cooking when she was at Saddle Peak...is she still serving lots of game?
  18. Joachim Splichal...black tie scallops Michel Richard....creme brulee napoleon
  19. Alan Wong Soup and a sandwich...yellow and red tomato soup with grilled cheese kalua pig sandwich and...opihi shooters

  24. Actually I love caviar...when owned a restaurant many, many moons ago (1987-1990)...I ate copious amounts...I really miss the taste it adds to dishes like the Hama Hama oyster dish...chives are nice...but caviar would have made that dish "killer"...went to the allergist and he laughed when I asked if there was a test for caviar...he said "just don't eat it...it's not like you need to have it "....
