I've read 2 recipes lately that call for a pressure cooker, which I own. Then I look at the instructions and they say something like, "Set your pressure cooker to the sear setting." That's an Instapot, which I don't own. My daughter loves hers. I used it once, and didn't really care for it.

I just bought those in Teal(?) to augment my Viancin lids. My largest Viancin covers a lasagna dish; the smallest covers a water glass. Yes, I really do like them as does my Sweetie.

At that price maybe I should order 2. 🤪

When I saw these eggs at a motel complementary breakfast I couldn't eat them. They look like yellow alphalfa Cubes.

They're a must-have in my kitchen.

@liuzhou I vastly prefer to self-check anytime I can. Not to worry, I enjoyed the joke.

Killian's on draft, I almost cried. Decades ago Killian's was our "fishing beer" up at the lake, consumed in the cabin.

@Smithy the Walmart here in Bullhead City put up those signs about a month ago, placed where RVs had been parking.

@Smithy I feel your traffic pain. For what it's worth, as a native southern Californian I grew less and less interested into driving into L.A. proper, eventually dreading it. I'm not a "City Boy" and in our travels my sweeties has heard me say many times, "Yup, looks like a city." Don't bother to try and extol the virtues of your city. I need fewer, shorter buildings and way more trees and foliage than cities offer. Of all the cities I've driven in for me San Francisco still rates the worst.

@Smithy I purchased some Royal Corona beans from Rancho Gordo to use when I try making Pizza Beans. My Sweetie doesn't care for Italian sausage so I will brown up a pound of regular breakfast sausage to add in to make it a one-dish dinner.

@Smithy In southern California the Anaheim chili is the chili of choice. Chili Rellenos are something that I've never had any interest in making at home. Here in Bullhead City there are several non-chain Mexican restaurants; I'll have to start trying some of them.

The stouter pitcher reminded me of the animated Koolade pitcher from their ads back when. I'd buy that on in a heartbeat.

@Smithy. Yes.

It's amazing how many chains Kroger owns. In southern Calif it's Ralph's, in our new neck of the woods it's Smith's, for you two in southern AZ it's Fry's. If we manage to meet up late winter/early spring next year I could bring your darling a sample of my slow-cooked (8 hours) corned beef, cooked in Guinness with root veggies.

There's also Tapatio. When a friend was working a serving counter he was once ask for Tuh-PATio sauce. It's been a joke within our group ever since.

@Smithy Do you make a corned beef dinner for the 2 of you on St Patrick's Dar?

Shelby, our move from southern California to a small city in Arizona has likewise left us bereft of decent stores like TJs. We're limited to 3 uninteresting chain supermarkets. For us, the distance to a TJs or other more interesting places to shop is 1 1/2 hours away and we haven't made that journey yet. Our trips back to southern CA are family and Dr visit centric. Thus far we haven't made it to TJs or Sprouts, etc. What grocery shopping we do do uis to buy stock-up things from Costco, and me getting my preferred coffee from WinCo. I was going to order some from Amazon but balked at the price, about double what I pay at WinCo. On a separate note, on the trip we're making next week we'll pick up our grandchildren and bring them back with us for a few days. 😁

I'm sitting on the patio having a cigar, listening to my tunes, and enjoying your catch-up posts. Also pleasant.

It reminds me of the so-labeled Gourmet Coffee machine at the Tejon Rest Area on I-5 except you don't get to watch the mixing process.

I own step ladders but given my balance issues these work a bit better for me, and my Sweetie prefers for me to stay off of step ladders. These are my step stools. The smaller one suffices for most simple tasks. The 3-step stool, which I call my project step stool, is used when more weight/reach is involved. I used the project step stool for removing and replacing the things on the initial top shelves, as well as installing the new shelves. It is no fun not being able to do the things I could easily do 15 years ago. I turn 70 this year but my body is older than my chronological age. I can't seem to get the images to show up when I choose them. For those who are curious they are Kobalt 2 step 250 lb, and 3-step 300lb.

Our kitchen cabinets came with 2 adjustable shelves per cabinet.Since we are vertically-challenged people the top shelf requires our step stool. Things that are going up there will be seldom-used items, some of them more awkward than heavy, but I didn't want to have to deal with large stacks of things stored up there. extra shelves was the answer. I bought a pre-made shelf and had it cut to required lengths. Now we have more useful storage in the kitchen. There''s still lots of kitchen unpacking to do so those shelves will get populated.
