Not Jewish at all, but Dad made the best omelette I have ever eaten to this day. Always when Mom was sick or away, and loaded with onion, bell pepper and green tomatoes. It was what he did with the egg that made it wonderful, and I still am not sure what that was. I make a mean omelette myself, but not up to Dad's standards. Of course, I may be fuzzy eyed with affection. Other than that, the grill on Saturday or an occasional fish fry were his only contributions.

Agreed Pontormo. If it is logical, it is correct and points are awarded. I like other's solutions. I like the banana split resolution, personally. German is a really wonderful language. Würstelstände is commonly used as a term for a sausage stand. It is also used as a term for a kebab made with sausage. Fun. Anyway, it is safely retired, and as always I love to read other's interpretations and inflections. We are at: In Play: Virginia Woolf and He Cai Dai Mao Haile Selassie (Ras Tafari) and gravlax Theodore Roosevelt and hummus Petula Clark and Truffles Ted Danson and Romullan ale Pablo Neruda and an icecream sundae Jack Black and steamed rice

I wasn't sure about range, but now I am. After the mass execution in Cooper City (about 5 miles from my home) that I cited above, my bee population went down dramatically. I have a back lawn that is approximately 70% chamomile (hush, that's the way we like it) and an empty lot next door that has about the same percentage. I noticed the dearth of honey bees immediately. I wish there was something I could do.

Playing grab a$$ while I am concentrating on what I am doing. Yesterday he goosed me while I was salting a pot of water for veggies, and I had to start over. Makes me nuts, and makes him giggle! He also likes to supervise, even if he doesn't know what I am cooking, never prepared it himself, and doesn't know what the plan is.

Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and techniques are major elements of fusion, are they not? Japan is in Northeast Asia, not Southeast. ← I think you answered your own question here. ← hehe, I'll just step back now... All yours Pan. I know you know how to handle it.

Honestly, nothing was in mind. I was curious to see how someone could put the two together! I thought it would be challenging. You accomplished it. Now, jump right in with a suggestion, and you do not have to know the answer to propose one. Fun.

As it orginated there, I do not understand your doubt. I have seen no doubt in America. ← Really? I must be reading upside down. LOL ← You must. Does that make your head hurt? You really are a loveable sort...

Silly. No worries. That is why we are all here! Now, please, frolic.

Heh. Marscapone polenta. How many fuses would a chef fuse fuse, if a chef of fusion could chef fuse fusions? Fast, three times.

Oh, I understand. It is the ones that I can pull out when reading that are the most interesting to me. Considering your solutions, I think your brain is very intricate! Fun!

I will defer to the majority, especially insomniac and pontermo, who have put a great deal of effort into the game. By the way, did you see the comet Janet? I am envious of your vantage, and if you haven't stepped outside by tomorrow, I may have to scold!

Grilled corn on the cob and popcorn. ← I can't imagine America without corn on the cob. I really can't.
-
Oh gosh yes it is! In the South in particular. Every time there is a BBQ, I would suspect. Every time a pot of grits is cooked, I'm sure. Every tortilla and slice of cornbread. Every turkey wrap with extra tomato. Every time cornmeal is used to keep a pizza crust from sticking. Every time a squash is baked. Huge influence. ← I agree there is a huge influence in terms of ingredients and perhaps some technique. I don't see it widely acknowledged..... And what about Native American dishes as such? Milagai ← Hominy in all its forms, and any sort of cornbread. Open fires and similar preparation of game, thus hunks of meat. Preservation. Unfortunately, it is not as widely acknowledged as I think it should be, but it is acknowledged. Part of the problem is that cooking methods were assimilated by European settlers, as were members of the Native American population, without the credit to the Native Americans. (Please note, there is a posole cookoff ongoing and very interesting) Those Native Americans ensured survival for both themselves and European settlers.

Thank you Toliver. That has honestly been on my mind for a few days now! Glad to be put out of my misery, and clever clue.
