  3. we we are staying at the Culver Hotel - breakfast provided. Quiche for me

  6. From Seattle I have flown to LA for a class at Guittard with Paul Young, UK based chocolatier of water ganache fame. I'm sharing a room with @Chocolot and in the am will meet up with @RobertM and @Gwbyls. I have nothing in the way of pics so far, @Chocolot has pics but is asleep - so in the am we'll get some more pictures going on this thread.
  7. Was lovely to see you too! Not great for direct sales - but should result in a few going forward I’m sure. It was a treat to see everyone face to face! Got to visit with @YetiChocolates and now I’m off to see @Chocolot and @RobertM to see what trouble we can get into.
  8. in the Alaska Airline lounge at the airport awaiting a flight to LA. @Alleguede texted me that they won’t let him into the lounge. He’s headed back to Toronto via Vancouver
  9. Last day of festival. Michael of Michael’s Chocolates managed to knock a box of chocolates off his table while coming from behind it to talk to me. if you make it - they will come
  10. Breakfast this am at 10 West with our air Bnb host from last two years. loaded potatoes
  11. My bad - Kung Pao chicken not almond - I didn't get to try any.
  12. Dinner tonight at Uptown China Restaurant. Wine list Cocktail list Neglected to catch pictures of the appetizers - but there were veg egg rolls, potstickers and shrimp 'ravioli' with ginger scallion sauce.. Hunan Tofu. Buddah's delight Pan fried noodles. Dry fried green beans. Scallops with broccoli Twice cooked pork belly Chicken with almonds
  13. Got ourselves all set up for the show. This little cutie watched with rapt attention while the 8 year old piped the chocolate that we had him temper. After he was finished we had her temper some chocolate and mold an Eiffel Tower. Here's the pieces that he piped - we put in a little of the raspberry chocolate @Alleguede had made earlier before having him back with the Cacao Barry dark.

Bhavhani returned - his cousin the foodie found us a place for dinner. @YetiChocolates was ready for dinner at the same time we were and she joined us at 'The Girl from Ipanema' (now I have another ear worm). Pão de Queijo and fried bananas caipirinha plain And girly And then it began And ended!
  17. This afternoon we headed off to the venue to get ourselves set up for tomorrow. Saw this adorable fellow upstairs when I went for a reccie looking for @pastrygirl. While poor Bhavhani went off in search of his missing equipment - @Alleguede, Bhavhani's staff member Bianca and I went off to Pikes Place market - headed in to Sur la Table. Found this all clad thermomix imitator. Then off to Beecher's Cheese for some fresh curd and a grilled cheese with extra stuff (tomatoes, basil and 'special sauce' which appears to contain grainy mustard). We wandered a little further afield while waiting for Bhavhani to return from his fruitless quest - and wandered upon a cartography store. This was just whimsical enough to appeal. And now I have a Paul Simon ear worm.
  18. There were a crapload of different brands - they have a custom woodburning/gas pizza oven - then a variety of other ovens to test baking in. That's a Miwe on the left and a Rational on the right.
  19. Brilliant - look like mini paint mixers to go with your drill.
  20. LOL - doesn't look like they've cut it in half yet. Must be a fairly new instant pot - the box was still around.

  24. I found this mold more of a challenge with this technique than other molds.
