Norm, a Father's Day feast. Well done. Live lobsters on sale here so I picked up three and made spicy lobster in a garlic, ginger and black bean sauce.

Rotuts, now that beef sandwich is my idea of a great breakfast. I don't care for eggs as much as my husband so I'd rather have a non traditional breakfast. Like this recent burger for breakfast. Today's breakfast.

So many great looking lunches. Anna, first of all I like your Wing picture. But I would be happy with everyone of your lunches. I baked another batch of mini baguettes - sandwich size. So today's lunch was His and Her sandwiches. Steak for Moe and mine was tuna.

Eggs baked in cream with sauteed cherry tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper and parmesan. Homemade Sourdough Biscuits.

Rotuts, Yes, I have made sourdough ciabbata in the past. I had been neglecting my sourdough starters recently. Hadn't fed them in almost three weeks. So I fed them both Saturday morning before leaving for work. One with white flour and one with half white and half rye. The one fed with rye doubled quickly. The one fed with white, needed a second feed. So I fed it again Saturday night around 8:00 PM and used some of the excess to make a biga. The starter doubled quickly this time. In less than three hours. And this is what the Biga looked like at 5:30 Sunday morning. I just mixed up a batch of dough. I added the Biga to 1000 g of flour and added 820 g of water and a pinch of yeast. I should have left out the yeast. I put the dough in the fridge before leaving for work and my DH had to knock it down two or three times as the dough kept pushing the lid off the container. Moe took it out of the fridge about an hour before I got home from work. It looked like this. I put half the dough back in the fridge to use later this week. I baked a pizza for dinner and two loaves of bread. Sliced this morning.

Anna, I think I will make smaller loaves more often. Made a batch of Ciabatta. Two large and a few smaller bun size.

Diana, beautiful loaf. I need to look for semolina flour. I wanted small baguettes to make French Dip sandwiches for dinner. I had intended to just make a half batch of minis and use the other half of the dough to make full size baguettes. I liked the mini size so I ended up making 10. Perfect size for sandwiches.

SobaAddict, What a lovely dinner. The colours are so vibrant. Ninagluck, Lamb shanks are a favourite. Love your meatball presentation. Shelby, great presentation. Love your platter. Norm, Nice celebration dinner. And Cassie's cake is beautiful. Dejah, another meal I would enjoy. Kim, I never think to serve waffles as anything but breakfast. Great idea. I've been finding some decent corn here too. Some of it good enough to make a meal of. I had a craving for a French Dip Sandwich. So I baked mini baguettes and roasted a small sirloin tip roast. Served with homemade fries, double fried.

A few more of our recent dinners. Small Sterling Silver Prime Rib, just big enough for two to share. Presalted for 24 hours and then uncovered and left to air dry in the fridge for 12 hours before grilling. Asian style - Grilled chicken legs with garlic ginger rice and a stir fry with bean sprouts. Grilled Pork Tenderloin, roasted potatoes and stacked Greek Salad.

Chris, I enjoyed reading your post. Your dinner certainly looks delicious. Never thought of serving canned peas with a beautiful piece of beef, but I always serve them with hot sandwiches. Along with fries. Pork Chile Verde - last night's dinner. Cooked yesterday morning before leaving for work. All that was left to do was make the sides when I got home. Homemade flour tortillas, refried black beans, salsa and guacamole. And Sangria!!

Unpopular Poet, Soba Addict, thank you for the response. Scones with clotted cream.

Anna, you have been making some great looking breads. I can't remember the last time I baked a pan loaf. Need to do that soon. This bread is what I call my standard or regular bread. Not sour dough. Started this batch late on Thursday afternoon when I realized I was out of bread. Last two loaves came out of the oven at 10:00 PM.

A few of our recent meals. Jerk Chicken With Rice and Beans and Tostones. Spot Prawns are back in season. Seared Scallops and Prawns with a beurre blanc pink peppercorn sauce. T-Bone for Two With baked potato and asparagus.

Unpopular Poet, Please do not take this the wrong way, I 'm just interested. I don't understand why one would choose to cook an egg for 90 minutes when a perfectly cooked egg can be had in a fraction of that time. That said , your egg does look perfect.. ~Ann

Last week's bread. I hadn't fed my starter in two weeks, so I fed it Tuesday and again Wednesday morning. I used some of the the starter to make a biga and used it in a batch of sourdough bread Wednesday night. The dough went into the fridge and didn't get baked until Friday night.
