Pic: If this isn't baby poo, I don't know what is... And I can't even say "But it tasted good" because it's now sitting in the bottom of my kitchen trash can. ← My grandmotherr tried one of these recipes from a magazine years ago, but she didnt like Instant pudding so made pudding and added that instead of the powder....pumpkin soup anyone? at least she used the good dessert glasses tracey

""and my first taste ever of this strange but wonderful thing called stuffing."" Dont forget you can stuff other things like chicken or chops or bell peppers... and there is rice stuffing, corn bread stuffing and regular bread stuffing...pretty much any 3 flavors you like together can be combined with the above and called stuffing tracey

I spent a good part of 20 yrs working days in a kitchen...someone else cleaned at night my biggest thing to remember at home is not to wipe the counter crap onto the floor because 1 the dishwasher from work doesnt clean up after me at home 2 neither do I 3 sometimes the dog does help out My name is Tracey and I am a slob

Just an aside....the History of the Turkey on every table was given to me as this...Turkey was the East Coast dinner of choice, and during WW2 I believe the soldiers anywhere near a base were served Turkey dinners and came home wanting turkey for Thanksgiving again....May have been WW1 but there was definatly something to do with soldiers and donated turkey I just miss the Pasta course now that we all eat at the non-Italian in-laws tracey

My floor is less than a week old but we went the extra mile in glue use during installation (the old tiles were peeling up) and I have yet to get the last of the glue smears up. Getting some Goo Gone tomorrow. but yeah...get a dog - sometimes you look down and try to remember the last time you mopped My kitchen door is the front door, so of course we got pale grey tiles tracey

I dredged in flour, browned in duckfat, removed the boneless breasts, deglazed with sherry vin, hit it with demi and covered for 10 min to finish the bone in thighs. Returned the breasts and finished with cherry preserves. Served with boiled baby pink potatoes and brocolli Pheasant is pretty good tracey

After a failed battle with traffic to get to NYC we turned back towards home and Villa Madrid for dinner. We started with 2 Tapas/Appetisers the "Chorizo con Camerones salteados con ajo" Chorizo and shrimp in garlic sauce. I dont think I could identify one ingrediant in that garlic sauce but I want more, plenty of nice slices of rich spicy chorizo and well cooked shrimp and that sauce which we sopped up with bread and then later with the chips when they came with the entree. The other appetizer was "Champinones Rellenos" Crab stuffed mushrooms (real crabmeat) swimming in a buttery broth, if you cracked the top of the stuffing you could pour the sauce right in We opted to split the Seafood Paella with Lobster which came with a half lobster, mussels, clams, scallops, and shrimp and of course the extra side of rice and Spanish potatoes (chips). Desserts were Flan de Queso (cheesecake made like a flan with caramel topping) and rice pudding. We rolled out of there very happy for the tidy sum of $46.00 plus tip BYO Very small parking lot Damn good tracey

Three new German three-star restaurants
rooftop1000 replied to a topic in Elsewhere in Europe: Dining
My German has a long way to go by spring...but I hope the nice people commenting really do send their money to doctors without borders... Altavista Babelfish is scarey...go ahead try it tracey -
Instead of the Halloween Parade my hubby offered to go in to see the Macy's Parade Balloons Wednesday evening. I am stumped for dinner in the area. Inexpensive, preferabley not Italian or Indian, South of 81st on the West side. I dont know if we are bridging or tunneling, could even be ferrying. K-town is one of my default areas, no where near W 81st though....unless anyone else wants to see giant balloons and get Korean BBQ? I await your generous knowledge...and if you ever come to NJ...oh wait forget that one Tracey

early word is ....amazing, Jess tried the choc/raspberry and loved it. The owners did the delivery and set up the towers themselves and stayed for the feast with the "kids" over 200 guests. Pictures coming soon. tracey

1/2 cup doesnt sound like too much...maybe adding some carrot or parsnip would help sweeten it, just sautee them with the onions in the bacon fat at the begining...you didnt mention onions either did ya?...So sautee some onions and carrot or parsnip in the bacon fat and puree with some of the stock nice and smooth....should help alot tracey
