From a comment on flavor:
"That's a very PLUM plum."

More clues:
131. Tubs of whipped cream, eaten before a flickering tv set.
CLUE: The character is a fat slob of a blonde who binges everytime she sees the actress who stole her doctor fiancee. Another scene shows her opening cupboards filled with whipped cream tubs.
132. How about several scenes of pork pies and a glass of sherry before a lit fireplace?
CLUE: These pork pies are gobbled up by an elderly man wearing an elf suit.
131 Death Becomes Her -- I just remember the peanut butter, eaten in great finger-dips from the jar.
And if the man in #127 is Anthony Quinn
in Zorba the Greek, I can see him yelling "DON'T be DELICATE" over a glass of ouzo.

118:
Children of a Lesser God, right after the memorable Boom-a-rang-rang-rang number.
And 107---My Dinner with Andre---just happened to TIVO it today---never had seen it, and when he ordered "Terrine de poisson" I listened for the other two.
Serendipity.

Wait maybe another one.... (maybe not)
135. The "Heidi" Bowl/game ?? Just going by the clues...tho' it seems like a bowl of goat milk might be in a movie called "Heidi".
Ya gottit!!! I knew someone would catch that. It was the sip heard round the world, at least in football.
-
134. A plate of marshmallow treats, covered in waxed paper, taken to a party.
Could be Edward Scissorhands - if "ambrosia" counts as marshmallow treats
Ambrosia? Not quite the one I meant.
Caroled called down the stairs to ask if it was the "marshmallow rice squares" made by Joan Allen in Pleasantville ---no, but it's quite a coincidence.
PS---121 is HARVEY?
-
T'aint Caro---it's Rachel, and if Toliver will send me his address, I'll send him my DVD.
It's IN there, I tell you, it's IN there!! And way neater'n the Senator's spillage.
Now scuse me whilst I go fetch my fan and smellin' salts. And maybe a julep.

Unless there are other clues which would narrow the answer to ONLY ONE possible solution, you hafta give credit for any that fit the parameters.
The 1995 film did not feature the same menu as the 1939 film. It was obvious from your initial answer that you were not thinking of the same movie that I was. However, rather than say flat out that you were wrong, which could have been misleading since you were so close, I chose to give you a big hint to look elsewhere. Sometimes the devil is in the details.
My request was referring to the denial of Kiss The Girls which exactly fit the bullet-through-the-milk-carton clue, as did The Manchurian Candidate, which Toliver meant when he posted the clue.
KTG was denied, though it FIT the only clue we were given. I'm just sayin'. Fair's fair.

Changes, changes. And time rolls on.
My heart always quickens when I see "Mayhaw Man" as a contributor to any thread, and I do hope this new avenue will increase the opportunity for more time to participate.
The coverage of New Orleans, before/during/now, the quick wit and easy style, the recipes and the parties, the confablations re: okra and cake and the stalwart defense of both, the downhome and the uptown---we can depend on Brooks for all those.
And I'll always remember and return to the pictures of that fabulous lawn party---I STILL wanna know how you turned out that beautiful aspic-topped pate, perfect and smooth, shining like a new Buick on the plate.
And, of course: CAKE

spinach, plantain mash, and green garbanzos with olive oil, sea salt and pepper
Those green garbanzos are gorgeous (and other alliterative compliments as I think of them). Did you get them fresh or frozen? Chris is hooked on hummus, and I know he'd like the green ones.
And where DID you get the picture of our gray kitty for your avatar?

A skillet of dogfood, a tiger and a violin. Posted this above, but can't see it as answered or included in the recap.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A plate of marshmallow treats, covered in waxed paper, taken to a party.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Goat's milk drunk from a bowl. Sports fans HATE this movie.
Edited to remove a clue for a movie posted above by someone else; totally different clue, however.
Marge's breakfast is FARGO. "Ya godda have a breakfast."
"The prowl needs a jump."

I'm not ready to declare a winner on #116. "A surprise of kippers, onions, and muffins in the attic bedroom." Racheld and Caroled, you are very close. But please name which film version features this particular menu. You can give the year or the name of the star. Also (hint) there were no sausages.
It's the Shirley one. There were definitely sausages in the color one, cause I saw 'em.
And caroled has gone to get her new glasses, and can't answer right now, so I'm chiming in to say she's right on this AND on the milk carton/bullet thing.
Unless there are other clues which would narrow the answer to ONLY ONE possible solution, you hafta give credit for any that fit the parameters.
And I'm getting crosseyed in my old age---all the clues sprinkled together, line after line---are they for ONE movie, or for several. Could we have a delineation between to mark changes to the next?
Humor me. I'm old.

caroled's answer of Kiss The Girls was also correct for #115.
Ashley Judd is being held hostage by nasty old Cary Elwes, who has opened the gas controls and filled the kitchen with gas. Morgan Freeman fires through a full milk carton so as to avoid a spark when the gun fires.
Told ya it was a Twofer.
Ah, but because
a) I haven't seen "Kiss the Girls"
and
b) that wasn't the movie my original posted clue was concerning
she may have been technically correct but she wasn't correct for my posted clue.
Oh, Tolliver!! I'm SO sorry!!! I had you down on my life-calendar as seeing that in March, 2004. My error. Carry on.

May I add one? Dogfood in a skillet, a tiger and a violin.

When the butter and lard are thoroughly mixed into the flour (they resemble rice pellets), add a little bit of water at a time and mix.
How wonderful that you use rice as the measure of the crumb size!! I wonder how many recipes I've used that measured the size as "the size of small peas?"
It's all in the familiar and the everyday.
It seems that every culture in the history of mankind has developed a noodle or dumpling, a bread, and a brewed beverage. It's so wonderful to see the other side of the world through the eyes of a lifelong dweller, and especially through the beautiful clear gaze of a small boy.
Thank you for all the wonderful pictures of your life---the markets, the streets, your home and family, and that enormous feast laid out for three like a banquet. Our own favorite Korean restaurant puts down myriad small dishes even before a beverage is ordered, and we enjoy the taste and texture contrasts, as well as the greens of the pickled cucumber, the brown and brilliant red of the kimchee turnip, the silver of inch-long fish perfect to the delicate fins small as eyelashes.
This is just lovely.
(And your Vienna octopi remind me of a thread which advertized the molds and cutters for forming all sorts of animal and vegetable shapes from a "Winny"---thinking of it always makes me smile).

More clues. Here's one:
* A surprise of kippers, onions, and muffins in the attic bedroom.*
Here's another:
* A coffee plantation.*
Another one:
* V-E-A-L P-I-C-C-A-T-A.*
One more:
* Champagne, champignons, and the Champs-Elysées. "Champs-Elysées? I wonder what they taste like."
The last one:
* "Waiter, will you serve the nuts? I mean, will you serve the guests the nuts?"*
Sorry---with "More Clues" I thought they were all the same movie. I was trying to get a handle on "The Little Princess" goes "Out of Africa" via "Gay Purr-ee" with Nick and Nora.
What the teacher can't teach you, and the preacher can't preach you, the Money Cat can!!"
Sorry for the confusion---It resembled a Quad-feature for a while there.
-
Nipples of Venus showed up in another movie I remember. Anybody care to name that movie?
Nope, but I saw dear Jennifer Paterson make them once, on TFL---she seemed to get quite a kick of arranging them "just SO."

Tolliver---#79 IS solved by caroled, the ever-alert Gary Oldman fan.

cornbread muffin sandwiches
It's all just scrumptious---I can't imagine what you could do if you were feeling up to par!!
And now, I hereby convey your G.R.I.T.S. Girl credentials, for cornbread muffins at tea, brown and savory and beautiful. Special Order of the Cotton Rosette for presenting these as the FIRST item on your prospective menu when you posted.
Hope you're feeling better today, and can just look back on a wonderful afternoon and smile.

Doddie!!!
We're delighted, of course, and all agog for anything you might want to cook, show, talk about or photograph. What a great week it's going to be!!
Smiling boys in a pillowfort!!

Remains of the Day? They drank tea as she smoked, and then parted with much left unsaid.
-
Lovely menu---can't wait for pictures. Cornbread mini-muffins have always been one of the most-requested and most-eaten items at teas we've catered, usually with Chris' smoked turkey breast and cranberry mayo.
Now go rest and put your feet up. I'd suggest a cup of tea, but that's been done.
Feel better soon.

Dinner! 2007
in Cooking
Posted
Last night's Nearing-the-end-of-the-COLD-weather dinner was strips of chicken breast in a coconut-curry sauce over basmati---usual toppings: a lovely long-shred coconut that seems to have been sparkled with the finest sugar grains; cashews and tart lemon pickle.
A side of stir-fried Napa with soy and garlic; crisp cucumber spears and grape tomatoes with a little dish of salty mayo for dipping; crunchy round toasted bagel crisps which crumble into buttery bits in your mouth.
A Stover coconut egg for dessert. (Sorta fit the theme).
