Cooking the shrimp unpeeled may retain some of the moisture, but I've found they don't retain the flavor from the marinade as well. Of course this is countered by being able to lick the marinade off ones fingers after peeling them...

Grilled Spicy Shrimp 1 lb large or jumbo shrimp Marinade: 2 or 3 roasted jalepenos 1 cup V8 juice 1/2 cup cider vinegar juice of 1 lemon juice of 1 lime 1 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp coriander salt & pepper to taste Place all marinade ingredients in food processor and process till smooth. Peel and clean shrimp. place in a 1 quart ziplock bag and add marinade. Press out excess air and close. Squeeze shrimp around and insure it is thoroughly distributed within the marinade. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour. Place onto skewars that have been soaked for at least 2 hours (I use 2 skewars per kabab to keep shrimp secure). Place on a hot grill and cook for 2 or 3 minutes per side. Serves 2 as an entree or 4 as an appetizer.

Depends what you've got available. My recent forays into grilling shrimp involve a Thai style marinade and dipping sauce that contains lime juice, coconut milk, lemongrass, coriander, black pepper and minced scotch bonnet peppers. Just remember that when using acidic marinades like lime juice to limit the marinating to less than half an hour or you'll end up with skewared ceviche!

AARGH!! Graham Kerr and his obsession with yogurt cheese!! There are two distinct phases of Graham Kerr; the jolly, adding more wine to his glass than the recipe Kerr (I remember an episode where he tore around the set, wineglass in hand, jumping over chairs and such. He finally came to a stop at the counter, smiled, and peeled a sheet of plastic wrap from the top of the glass, and commented "I may be silly but I'm no fool!"). Almost made it worth skipping school... Then there is the more recent health and fat obsessed Kerr who is so wrapped up in measuring fat and calories that you can feel the "May not taste good but boy is this sucker healthy" waftums radiating right off the TV screen. Personally I liked the tipsy Galloper better.

After Bourdain's groundbreaking "What kind of ignorant motherfucking heap of still-steaming camel shit would make such a dumb-ass claim?" post I think you'd be hardpressed to make much offense here...

I recently surfed accross the cable and onto a Food show. There was something about the host that struck me as familiar. Then it hit me, it was Keith Floyd of the Floyd on France/Floyd on Fish series. I love that guy! He was just as raspy and "In the host's face" as I recalled from his PBS days. Of course I never found the show again...

I'll probably stay home this year. I'd normally go to the Grucci fireworks display in Red Bank, but nobody goes there anymore. It's much too crowded...

I believe it was the Pad Kee Mao in the noodle section, Sauteed wide rice noodles with shrimp, chicken, fresh chile peppers, onions basil and eggs. I have to admit I got 3rds on that one!

I do have to add, in deferance to the thread that Indigo moon is very good. A non pretentious purveyor of classic French Bistro fare, unlike every other new restaurant opening now that claim to be bistros but are in reality just hopped up Applebees. I'd include IM on a level with Joe & Maggies in Long Branch.

Wait a sec. -- is she kinda heavy set and also works in a wine store in Red Bank? Ummm, quite the opposite. And' I'll not reveal where the tattoo's are...
