  1. Can I substitute baking times & temperature from one cake recipe for another cake recipe's baking time and temperature? I'm trying to make cheesecake.
  2. I just use a regular microwave to reheat. Works great every time.
  3. If the cinnabon is too big you can always reheat leftovers. I find that reheating make the bread super soft and chewy.

  6. Thanks. I'll be reading those threads now. Whenever I want to make something I get obsessive. I'm not sure if making macarons are worth the trouble though.
  7. I never understood the hype behind macarons until today. My first macaron was rose flavored. It tasted and smelled like soap. Anyway, today my nan came by with macarons because I hoped that they would taste as delicious as others said that macarons tasted. I got to taste 3 flavors. Tea flavored, raspberry/strawberry (not sure), and salted caramel. After giving macarons another chance, I feel satisfied. They were everything I hoped they would be. Delicious. I will definitely be eating them again. Please share your experiences with the macaron.

  10. Another thing. I just just compared the recipes of the cheesecakes that you mentioned. Thanks for telling me how they turn out. The RLB cake uses a lot of sour cream. And that is why it should be lighter than the Maida Cake. Thank you!
  11. Thanks for the advice. I'm currently not in jersey. I've never had carlos. I really want to make the California cake. I miss it so much. If I go to jersey I will try to see if I can get a California pie from carlos.
  12. Mazur's also used to have really good chocolate checkerboard cake & really delicious dense cheesecake. I'm missing their goods so much.

    Does heating the hot sauce help the flavor? I just melt the butter in the microwave to mix into the hot sauce.

    The wings are just fried (no flour). & I toss them in the hot sauce butter mixture. Many of the recipes online say to use only butter and hot sauce. I've tried adding garlic powder and honey to the sauce (the wings have more of a depth of flavor with these additions). Even with those additions, I still feel like I'm missing something.

    Why do my buffalo wings not taste like Buffalo Wild Wings' wings? I mix franks hot sauce with melted butter and my wings do not come close to BWW. Aware me, please.
  19. I like to do my research before baking or cooking anything. I then modify recipes after I've done my research & cooked/baked the first round of recipes.
  20. Yeah, I don't really know what I'm looking for. I just thought that if I have good cake books, the cakes would turn out to my liking. My favorite cake was a lemon sponge with vanilla whipped cream and vanilla pastry cream and fresh fruit. I haven't found a recipe for it yet and I am not sure if I want to look up those components on their own to make that cake. If you see a recipe for that type of cake, please post it. I miss it so much. The bakery I used to get that type of cake from went out of business.
  21. I don't want to make a new topic for this: Anyone ever try making cupcakes from food network's cupcake wars archives? If so, how delicious were they on a scale of 1-10 (10 being most delicious)?
  22. I also never had a particularly great cupcake either.
  23. Truthfully, I've rarely had a bad cupcake. The only bad ones are the ones that are too dry or too sweet.
  24. I collect cookbooks for reference. I want to make the best cupcakes so I look at the recipes in the books to compare the recipes. I also look at reviews on amazon and other websites.
