  2. The outsiders say... I say, a lot of dishes taste the same to me (that one taste was pretty good, tho). I'd go back if I had more time and more money. I'm saving up for Maestro or something...
  3. I SO want to go there...
  4. I used to like Matuba in Bethesda when I lived around there. How's that place these days? When I visited, sushi there was always great. The prices are good, especially at lunch... Also a big fan of the sushi at Spices, even though that's not really a Japanese place. Kaz and Sushi-Ko in order for high praise, but they can get a little expensive (if that matters). Re: Good Guys vs. Sushi By that rationale, shouldn't there be a good sushi place next to Camelot (I mean, Cumalot) a lot on M Street?
  5. I have been enough in recent months to continue to endorse. I mean, even the most simple and boring-sounding thing (like leek tart) is really delicious. You can count on all the ingredients being the freshest and the service has been friendly and efficient. There's nothing adventurous about going there, but with good company, a medium-sized wallet and the hankering for a thoughtfully prepared meat/fish course with stuff that's in season, I think the value is high. You'll have fun too! Since I got punched, I'm scared of grubby Adam's Morgan, so I go far, far away for dinner... Can't justify not walking home, so I just don't go anywhere that close.
  6. Thanks for keeping us posted, SanFran! Look what I just read on Linda Roth's site: "Two alums of The Inn at Little Washington are planning to open a high end bar and restaurant featuring French/Indian cuisine. IndeBleu is slated to open on G Street in the ever-growing Penn Quarter across from the MCI Center in late summer. Famed DC architectual firm, Adamstein & Demetriou, designed the space. " Here's a plug for the PR mavins so I don't get in trouble: http://www.lindarothpr.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=latest_dish I saw the pretty spot near the MCI that they're talking about... More and more guys with hammers and investors with deep pockets. Much yums, M
  7. Geeze. This city is money, money, money... I walked by the super-sized Benetton (thank goodness it's still around ), and right around the corner, fully fashioned for business, Sette Osteria. That's the Cafe Milano people. Nice space. How long has that been open? Another guy hammering
  8. Montgomery's Grill! The last time I hung out there, cell phones were the size of TI-85 graphing calculators and the mid-thirties businessmen were sooo cool. Yup-oram! **Now, go here -----> http://www.andrewsullivan.com/ When you get there, scroll down to picture of Andrew Sullivan in his cowboy hat. Below that there there a link ('this'). If you laugh, you get a glowstick!
  9. Anyone been there yet? Flying Scotsman
  10. 8, Do you like sushi? You can maybe still get into Kaz. Gal next to me at work just did it with 4 ppl.
  11. Think two of us can just walk in there tonight at 8 with any luck...or no way in hell? Maybe it's a dumb question...

  13. Best v day's ever are always at home. any real man knows that!
  14. I tried to get resis with a weeks notice recently (I know better, but like to gamble)and they said I would have done better calling two weeks ahead...or three if it's for Saturday night.

  16. Are you at work Swank?
  17. I've always thought ME IN YOU sounded gross...
  18. Be careful, tho. It's Friday and Wizards are playing La Clippers at MCI. Just be prepared for that...
  19. Also, Doctor. Try Andale. From the margarita to the chip, that place has soul!
  20. It might be about time to go back. Leonsis' punch and a little terror never hurt me.
  21. If I can say a little funny something: Right this very moment , Rosa Mexicano is doing a tortilla soup demo at Dupont Farmer's Market. All I'll say is that someone important forgets their own recipe. Good PR move to hit farmer's market, though.... (I might go to hell for posting this)
  22. Ask Sonya
  23. Is that Jarad? Who is that guy!? Food looks great! Very cool!
  24. keep going! DCMark, You wasted your first post ever on Local 16! That place is way overrated and they close all the time when it snows.
  25. QUICK! Ask these guys: Going Out Freaks (The Going Out Gurus, I mean...) Fritz would know.
