Watershed, Scott Peacock, Edna Lewis in the NY Times! This is quite exciting for we eGulleteers who live in the Atlanta area! The story of Scott Peacock and his aging mentor, Miss Edna Lewis, with whom he wrote a cookbook, is legendary in this town. A wonderful article on a true and lasting friendship!

If the items are wrapped as you mentioned, thoroughly, there is no problem. Grocery stores often have to restock and put things into their proper places. But "wrapped" is the operative word here!

As a fellow Atlantan, and knowing The Food Tutor for some time, I anticipate a truly outstanding blog, both information-wise and pictorally! She is an exceptionally talented woman and a repository of great knowledge of both the food and restaurant businesses, which are, of course, hardly mutually exclusive ... Very pleased to share this occasion with you, Julia, and excited that eGullet is now the recipient of this unique experience! -

article from the LA Times (requires free registration) For so very long I have always thought of barbecue as a purely southern thing .. well, I do live in the region and had read about the myriad variations in barbecue: North Carolina, South Carolina ... and I had completely forgotten about the pleasure of other barbecue styles ... From LA Times' Russ Parsons comes this highly interesting article on Santa Maria barbecue which will #1 make your mouth salivate and #2 make you consider trying to replicate his succulent results at home ... Does anyone here grill a tri-tip?
