Hi all!

I just purchased a 75cl bottle of Werner Dorwagen 1999 St. Johanner Geyserberg Ortega Beerenauslese (Rheinhessen). Any knowledge about the producer and/or the grape? (I know it's a cross involving riesling and gewuerztraminer, but that's all... :hmmm:).

I think the AP code states that it has been bottled in 2001, so maybe it underwent some maturation in wood.

Thanks for any information ,

Sorry, never heard of

Dorwagen

St. Johann

Geyserberg

Ortega

And you probably know enough about Beerenauslese and Rheinhessen.

Ortega is indeed a crossing. It makes agreeable dessert wines that are not particularly long lived. I would drink up (though no need to do it say this second...just sometime in the next 6-12 months IMO).

I've never heard of the producer.
