Ate them on the couch watching the first Star Trek movie.

Thanks for the report on Robert's. We've been waiting for them to get a little time under their belt before venturing there.

As for the first Star Trek movie, remember what a stir it caused that they had a bald woman?

1. Wise choice. Not that it was bad. I forgot to mention that the restaurant was about half full -- pretty good for a new place in Garwood on a very rainy Monday night. Do you know when they opened?

2. I was 4 when it came out. I wasn't shocked at all!

I know they have some kind of affiliation with the Office & Charlie Brown's but I don't know exactly how it works.  Thankfully, they still have their own menu & beer selection.

OK, I'm a complete ass. Don't know how I missed the big ol' OFFICE logo on the menus at the Jolly Trolley. Went to the real Office in Summit the other night (extenuating circumstances) and the menu looked awfully familiar. The chicken parm wasn't nearly as good, though.

For strictly steak, Sammy's is worth the drive but not the wait. Novitas in Westfield has a simply wonderful filet on a portobello with Gorgonzolla, then the best creme brulee you will ever have. And a friendly, unpretentious place.

Just got home from an early dinner at Robert's. We thought it was excellent. We got the last table for 2 at about 6:15. The wait can be long on a weekend evening. Only 2 complaints....believe it or not....the food came to quick! We split mesculum salad with pear and sugared walnuts, and the Sampler...steak, chicken and shrimp appetizer....for dinner we both had the pork chop...excellent. I had them double the veggies and drop the potatoe....not a problem for them. Also the breads were very good....walnut raisen especially nice....by the second trip around they did run out of the walnut bread! Settling the bill took a few being they were not used to using the gift certificates.

Did not do dessert....rushing to movie. The dessert menu looked...average though. We thought it was quite reasonable....not to mention using ebay certificate. Will definatly go back.
