1986 Bordeaux Dead or Alive

I've been given a bottle of 1986 Sociando Mallet......it was in a temperature controlled cellar. any thoughts? I was going to bring it to dinner but I'm just not sure

'86 was a strong cabernet sauvignon vintage. Many of the great wines from that vintage still taste youthful. The Sociando should very good. Remember, though: '86 was the Chernobyl vintage.

I googled a couple websites and it appears that Sociando is a well made and well-respected wine, with a long life. When I bring something old enough to be dubious, I ususally bring a spare, which I produce if the wine is shot or, in the case of Chernogyl-year wines, glows eerily.
