The Donut Pub

203 W. 14th St. near Seventh Ave.

Order whatever is still warm in the back.

A major cut above Krispy Kreme.

Is this a morning only kind of place, or is it worthwhile to visit whenever I'm in the neighborhood?

Doughnut Plant is better.

Donut Pub is good. Better than Krispy Kreme. Not fantastic. At 1:00pm there were warm doughnuts available, so I guess it's an all-day place if you're willing to eat whatever is fresh.

Would I be disappointed if I assumed this was some kind of "pub"?  Not donuts and beer, in other words?

you're correct in that you'd be disappointed.. WAY too brightly lit to be a proper pub..
