So I work in a kitchen where I don't get everthing I need to make specials. Last week our boss ordered new Chicken and dumpling from sysco that were not all that good. (At least compared to the stuff we already have.) She wants me to turn those Chicken and Dumplings into chicken ala king. Any suggestions?

That is a sad story! Serve it with some buttered egg noodles, minced parsley and add a heavy dose of update your resume and look for a new place to work

For the chicken, I'd salvage that, and the gravy and saute up bell peppers, onion, mushrooms and garlic in butter and oil. Add flour to make roux. Add milk or stock. Return chicken and gravy, add pimento and season.

I think you'll have to lose the dumplings.

Is Sysco chicken and  dumplings frozen with preservatives, or just frozen? I would be looking for another job if Sysco, and the boss, depend on food chemistry.  You deserve better.
