Gadget Needed - for prying vacuum lid off mason jars

I have previously just pushed both thumbs against the underside of the rim and the lid pops off.  My problem has come about because I'm vacuum sealing the jars in my chamber vac.  That thing sucks and the lids are very, very firmly attached.

Tattler has a small handy jar lid opener on their website that is pretty easy on their lids and on the metal lids also. I have several and have given them to my daughters that can and vacuum seal also. They offer it on their website shop.

Haven't tried this but it occurred to me that perhaps a hand held can opener (the kind that doesn't cut the top but pries off the lid from the can at the side) might fit and at least be able to break the seal if you can get a turn or two in before it realizes it was not made for that job?
