Is 9000 sq feet too much space? <g> There is also a rental space right under the train station in South orange... between Bunny's and the trestle. Also, since Heart and Soul Catering closed up on Academy St a few months back... not sure if anything moved into his space. I think the number was 62 Academy... in same strip mall as Haru and a Domino's Pizza.

Went to that link, and didn't find anything about places to go for Thanksgiving...Anyone have any suggestions, for last minute Turkey Day plans... for just 2 people. It can be eat in or take out.

I guess the location formerly known as Joy Luck Pavilion (Northfield Ave in WO) is too big for Syd's (It's 9000 sq ft, according to the banners on the roof).

I would have loved it if they took over the Kmart/Pathmark shopping center in West Orange, and made a Wegmans. That would be one way to modernize that shopping center. Well, We've got Whole Foods there now, so it's a moot point.

That's a shame. I thought they did a great job with their authentic dishes, however, they rarely had any business. I had just started going there as well, as I had only heard about it recently. For whatever reason, no restaurant has been successful at that location. ← a now-locked thread on MOL indicated this restaurant was just closed for renovations,. However, there were never any indications to that effect on the building facade (and I think the motel desk would have known they were renovating, vs closed) . Drove by the other day and there is now a large FOR LEASE sign -- " Medical/office/restaurant" covering the Joy Luck signage. Guess they really are closed now.

Be sure you have registered your Entertainment book card at www.entertainment.com. The site also lists printable coupons and "show the card" type discounts, not mentioned in the books. Also , Yoshi Sono often has coupons in the ValPak or Money Mailer envelopes we get, as well as in some of those glossy ad-filled booklets that seem to come every few weeks.

There was a Rainbows in New Milford too... near the Burger King on River Road.. in that strip of stores just south of the BK.

Joy Luck Chinese Pavilion in West Orange has permanently CLOSED, about 2 weeks ago, according to the staff at the Turtle Brook Inn . (The restaurant and TB Inn shared a building) BTW, can this thread title be edited, to reflect the place is now closed? I didn't want to start a new thread. thanks!

McDonalds is giving away sheets of coupons (I think there are 6 on the page)... one of which is good for a free cup of the premium coffee. There is also BOGO for Filet o Fish, Premium coffee, breakfast sandwich, and 2.99 for 20 nuggets.

I did not know abouteither of these two PR pieces... and planned a lunch date with my mom and my sister (and her family) . Got there around 11:45 and it was crowded.(didn't know why, until we heard discussion of the SL article) .. Had a great time though.. Eric (or was it Matt) seemed to recognize me from my visit last week. Just a thought... If there is room, maybe add a 4-top table? (or swap a 2=top for a 4) There were 4 adults and a toddler, and the 2-tops just don't work. (no seating available at the counter area). My mom was a bit overwhelmed at the choices and elected to just sample ours. My sister agreed the fries were awesome, and we loved the Boylans on tap. 3 y.o. nephew kept asking for "more hot dog". Keep up the great work!

Stopped by AHD around 7:15 tonight, and had the pleasure of meeting Eric and Matt. As my husband and I were eating I overheard others (who had just entered) discussing egullet. I feel like a member of a secret society! <g> I had the amazing dog with whiz, and hubby had a hamdog hotburger with chili & cheese inside. We split a large order of fries. I had the limeade which was great (next time I might ask for less ice) . We polished off everything, and hubby went back up for another order of fries (to split) and an order of mini buffalo dogs. Parking was not a problem (except we almost went in the exit) and we will definitely be back. Is delivery a possibility in the future? Best of Luck, Eric and Matt!

It is a strip mall with parking right in front. I think there may be parking in the back as well, but we haven't had to park back there either of the times we visited. ← If it is a strip mall with its own lot, then they must have a handicapped parking spot. Skimmed this thread and the website, but cannot find a list of the hours for AHD. Also tried to call them, but their answering machine does not mention the hours. Can someone please post the hours, or give me the link , if it is somewhere in this thread already (and I missed it!)

According to the website, they do NOT serve ALL of Essex County.. maybe half of it... but they do not serve WO, MW, SO, Livingston, Millburn, etc. Too bad, because I was hoping to order from them.

Will they deliver to West Orange or South Orange during lunch time? I tried to get a menu with prices (i.e. for delivery or bring to my car) but have not gotten one yet. I emailed them asking for a menu to be faxed, but I guess I'll have to call them directly.

Where is this West Orange Watercooler? Some local pizza delivery places: Johnny's Pizzeria (Main St, WO) Angelos St Cloud Pizza (Northfield Ave @ St Cloud Avenue, WO) Master Pizza, (Northfield Ave, Livingston, right near Old Short Hills Rd. ) There 's always Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, or Dominos I'd keep an eye peeled for those Coupon envelopes we get in the mail (ValPak, SuperCoupons) , as well as those coupon/ad filled magazines that seem to come every few weeks. Take away the KMart & PathMark on Eagle Rock/Prospect in West Orange... Turn the whole building into a Wegmans!

Charlie Browns in Millburn will too, if you ask them to and explain that you are disabled. I figure they already have the pick up service.. I called one day and explained I was disabled/mobility challenged, and would they be will to bring the food out to the car. They had me call them as I was pulling into the lot, and they came right out.

From the website (the portion " What we are selling" ) "Just call, fax, or email your order………..we’ll bring it out to your car! " Now THIS I love. As a mobility challenged individual, I will likely drive from West Orange to this location for a good take out meal. There are only so many times I can do a drive thru fast food, or pizza delivery. I like Outbacks Take away option, but hate to drive to Springfield for it. Anyone been yet, that can give us a report?
