  2. you guys are brutal!..I am sure they had fun, which is alot of what cooking is about and I am sure alot of home cooks will tune in to see it...something the folks at Food Network are aware of....give em a chance!
  3. I have eaten Bobbys food and just want to know as much about Chef Bull as I can so I can make educated comments and look for certian things in his dishes.....its not cheating, just good research...of course I can make comments like the others so you can all make fun of what a crappy judge I am if you would like
  4. Neal Fraser is a friend of mine, and let me tell youm he can do amazing things with pork....I will be at Grace watching the episode w a few hundred people, should be great!
  5. Folks, i am trying to do a bit of research before I leave for Iron Chef next week. One of the episodes I am juding will feature David Bull of Driskill Grill in Austin TX. I know I love Texas, should I love this guy? Tell me about him, what to expect, what to look out for etc. Thanks Chris
  6. Just found out that there is going to be an awesome team battle this season....cant say anymore, but all off the names have been thrown around at one time or another here.... I never thought they would do anything like it, but they are!
  7. Mayhaw Maw, can you find out if Besh is on the 24 or 25th? I would love to have one of his battles......Hell, he might be fun to just have a few drinks w in NYC and talk food/war....trust me, those 2 subjects go together well.....what do you think I dreamed about in my foxhole for 9 months...food dammit! Battle Sausage...now that could work....all different kinds...oh yea.....damn I am getting hungry and have to go to work...

  9. I am judging 2 Flay battles, on the 24th and 25th...dont know and dont want to know the ingredient. I will be writing about it for my paper and maybe USA Weekend (to which I contribute some stuff)... I would really like it to be something that they can both work with....Onion would work well...garlic.....Lobster!....I am thinking they will be more exotic because they have been through most of the ingredients in the first 2 seasons....oh, battle ribs?....Battle Chili pepper..... I am trying to decide which of my wild shirts to bring.....(some of you are aware of my "shirt thing") I understand that its pretty damn cold and had to buy a pair of jeans....I just repo'd my jacket from a buddy.....
  10. I leave in 2 weeks for NYC and will judge a couple of battles. I am pretty stoked as it should be a lot of fun. I am just hoping its not battle frog or lizard!
  11. Hell, I would call up the local paper and tell my story....I wonder how much Chef Greenwood would like that! I am sure that there wont be any photos of her food in the story, but she can seee how much "words" can effect things as well......sounds like she does not have confidence in the food she makes....Wow....
  12. There is Grace on Beverly (the chef Neal is going to be on Iron Chef Jan 22) or Avenue in Manhattan Beach....also Blue 32 in Hermosa Beach has great food and is young and hip

    Dover Canyon

just an advance notice for eG folks....my wine panel just did the "end of year best wine" tasting this evening and the Dover Canyon "Old Vine Zin" won hands down. There was no doubt about it, it was head and shoulders above every other wine my panel tasted this year for the Daily Breeze newspaper review. We tasted several hundred wines this year and it came out on top....just wanted to say great job to Mary and the Dover Canyon crew.....if you can get a bottle, go buy it! Great job guys Chris PS the article will be published on the 30th
