  1. I have been working on buying an already existing diner and then Covid-19 hit and crippled the economy. Now I'm having second thoughts on fulfilling this venture. Is it still a good idea? Will I succeed? Do you all have any advice?
  2. So I put together the list of Vermont maple syrup producers. I'm not sure if I got all of the producers in the state but I found quite a few. I organized the list alphabetically and listed the town in which they are located. I'm sure a quick Google search will give you their websites and/or contact information if you want more information about any of their maple products. The producers in bold are ones I have personally tried and all of them are quite good. The best ones I also put a "*" next to. · Adam Gagne – Swanton, VT · Aither's Ridge Top Farm – Hyd
  3. I am currently working on a list of all maple syrup producers in Vermont if anyone is interested. I will post it here regardless once I finish it in a few days.
  4. The Maple Guild in Island Pond, VT is one of the best on my opinion. A former CIA instructor started it and is now the biggest producer of Maple Syrup outside of Quebec. They also do infused syrups as well such as vanilla, bourbon, etc.
  5. Don't knock the beaver until you try it. I was skeptical myself but it honestly does taste a lot like beef, not terribly gamey either.
  6. Feel free to pick my brain anytime.
  7. @Alex I hope so. Vermont is a beautiful place. I feel very lucky to be a native of this state.
  8. I wish I had joined sooner. So many great books.
  9. I am about 45 minutes north of Burlington
  10. Thank you all! Typically my Fiancee does the cooking at home, however, since I've had a lot more time on my hands recently due to the pandemic, I've been doing most of the cooking at home. She suprised me tonight though with a curry which was nice.
  11. I'm very excited to be a part of eGullet. I am a head chef in Vermont for a family run restaurant and catering business. I am currently working on a business plan for my own restaurant. I have been in the industry for 14 years. I am looking forward to connecting with all of you and expanding my culinary knowledge.
