"When you're tall like me it's uncomfortable." YEAH!!! I have the same problem. We have been talking about going back to Le Rendezvous as we always enjoyed this restaurant. However, the last time we were there the owner/chef was away and the meal was disappointing. I'd just make sure that he is cooking the evening you dine there.

The Pear Tree in Rumson brings back memories of some very good innovative dinners.

Never been but have posted some info about their food demonstrations on my Food Events page. Haven't received any information from them in a long time. Sounds like an interesting store.

I don't think I'll be back in Hoboken until the spring. Want to try Augustino's again.

When I was working two jobs Sat. night was always "date" night. By the time Friday came around I was too tired to go out. We went out during the week if we had to for work but did not make a habit of it. Also, we always ate out on Sunday also. Now that I am only working one part time job we enjoy going out during the week and actually prefer dining out midweek more that Sat. night. Sometimes we go out on Sundays and sometimes we don't. I cooked last night as we are going out on Tuesday night.

Sammy's in Mendham. I think they are double fried in lard. Also, Epernay in Montclair as he serves them with a couple of rich, creamy dipping sauces.

Is there a field trip planned for Beacon or did you have it already and I missed it?

Thanks for the report although after reading everything that you had to say I am not sure if I want to try this place. The business with the knives is also such a turn off. " More important, someone needs to train the busperson not to take used knives off finished first course plates and put them back on the table for re-use. ohmy.gif angry.gif My husband spoke up and asked that they be replaced with fresh ones." So--go back again and let us know if it is worth the trip!

The only time I have had pork belly has been in a Chinese restaurant. Check some Chinese cookbooks for sauce ideas.
