I hope you mean on 1/2 of one muffin. 🤭

Just be aware that if you have any physical issues the glass ones are heavy, especially the large ones!

I think perhaps we forget how Afternoon tea was much more of a ritual than just tea with sandwiches and sweets. Perhaps not as complex as Asian tea ceremonies but certainly a place where you could trip up or be tripped up very easily. @liuzhouwould you be able to address the rituals?

I just had a very badly executed dish of dry- fried green beans and pork. Looking at your dish I am most envious.

I did not for a minute expect it to be taken as authoritative only as amusing. It makes me wonder as further amusement why nobody in the past attempted to feminize the ploughman’s lunch!

My curiosity got the better of me. Here

There is no better way! Beautiful.

Oh my God! I have lived in fear of putting my beloved Joule in upside down. It is clearly marked and so far I have not made that mistake.

I suspect it was intended to increase The Guardian’s bottom line! Not sure we have any proof that it succeeded there.

I have definitely seen them in the past but it has been over 15 months now since I’ve been anywhere near a store of any kind. I would suspect they would be readily available in an Asian store though.

I don’t know…. I can get pork neck soup at almost any Korean restaurant. 🤭 Gamjatang is soup made with pork neck bones and vegetables.

That was my very first thought when I saw it. But then I wondered given all those small muscles. But when I looked it up those muscles are certainly there. Here

I agree with the well-written but still felt it beneath The Guardian’s usual standards. Unless, of course, it’s meant tongue-in-cheek and I’m missing the whole thing! Love that you have three grinders.

I have always thought of it as an eggless mayo. -
Going to assume that it has a built-in deodorant!

What a fascinating knife collection. Yes designing a block (or anything else for that matter) to hold those would pose some serious challenges. I guess you did not buy the “All you need are three knives: chef’s knife, paring knife and serrated bread knife” slogan? Me neither. But my collection is very different from yours.

On this I am with @Darienne Some of the suggestions for avoiding a gadget are ridiculous. “You could even peel ribbons from your vegetable with an ordinary swivel-headed vegetable peeler, then, piling the ribbons neatly, cut them into strips. “With a good, sharp knife, you can do anything,” says Grainger.” Or you could use a spiralalizer and do it in the blink of an eye. As for the ice cream made with condensed milk — no thank you.

Ah. That would explain why you are still on the RCMP‘s most wanted list.

Don’t you think after two hours at 425°F the parchment may have disintegrated and long ago lost its ability to protect the pan?

Years ago I recall a fairly active Afternoon Tea scene in the GTA. From what little I could find it hardly rates the name anymore. All the grand hotels have gone.

I suspect the use of butter can make the difference especially if used in copious quantities.

That just might be the most frightening knife I have ever laid eyes on.
