OK another question : lets say the APO , connected to WiFi gets its firmware updated. and an App appears on an iPhone basically to turn on the light ? does the APO have to remain w WiFi to get the light to turn on ? of can an iPhone , w app connect to the APO after the WiFi is replaced in its box , and unplugged ? I might be investing in a nice flash light .... some day.

I finally got around to getting myself some Rewarding Treats @ TJ's : these two cheese's have been @ Tj's before they are ' creamy ' fermented cheese style similar to Brie etc. but w their own profile. I like Full Flavored Creamy cheese at the end of the meal , w bread. I opened each , and placed them in a ' PotatoSalad ' plastic container that I reuse. I used to loosely wrap my cheeses for Home Fermentation but have a fruit fly problem, so I do it this way. ' Ammonia ' by products are not vented until the containers are open , but one wither does this from time to time or waits a bit before eating the creamy cheese on bread. works fine. my kitchen in the winter is about 60 F after one day , I had to sample the cheese's , because that's what i had. they were ready and delicious . each is a bit different . the Langres is more pungent but each has a very nice flavor , as long as you like ' full flavor ' fermented creamy cheese I like a fruit // pastry dessert . these fill that bill. they coe frozen 2 to a box. initially I CSO'd my first one. the setting I chose were OK , not fantastic. the crust got a little dry. there are ''microwave' instructions ! interestingly , those worked fine ! and then this : refrigerated : I do love carnitas , and have made them from scratch in the past. each pack is different . those w eagle eye's note these are two different packs. for me carnitas are crispy , but mostly tender and have a decent amount of fat. I sliced a unit up , and sautéed in one of my Fond-less , but did not turn them got one side crispy , the top side tender and juicy. if you chose to try these and like the fatty elements ( a key element ) turn the packs over and find one w some fat on it. I dd not shred these , but they are easy and tasty w/0 that fuss.

@Anna N interesting points Ive been thinking more about this technique. for me , both C19 related , and some not really that bad back issues Im happy w what TJ's has for wraps. they see of high quality are are varied. for soups right now , a have several kinds from Progresso. Bena w bacon might not work with this technique Im sure some TJW's I have not tried as wraps , might work a bit better in different soups. the is a very nice Italian Wrap . salami etc etc 8 months of sodium right there , but really tasty [ed.: remember , there are some simple rules on getting the ingredients ] a few slices of that might be mighty fine in the Progresso IW soup. etc. you do loose texture difference , a Soup is soupy , a Hand Sandwich ( in the hand ) does not. etc

when I had to use these aluminum pans in the pas I used a second one so they were stack of two its not hard to pour the Jus and scrape up the fond into a saucier for the gravy the turkey is od course transferred to its warm serving dish first if that's all yoy have for the once a year feast it dies work well enough if that's all you have winning the Turkey Boat w parchment paper first is also an idea it makes it easier to clean the Boat and use it again Next Turkey

Im a fan f Soud and a sandwich esp in the colder month. soup is easy to make in the iPot and a sandwich is easy to make , if you have the i ingredients I came up with this just now : its Progresso Italian Wedding ( lower salt version ) the salt difference is not huge but Ill take what I can get . The Sandwich ? 1/2 of a Trader Joes roll up turkey w basil. I sliced the 1/2 TJ's into Medallions , and heated them up w the soup. the sandwich comes from the refrigerator , so it takes a few more seconds to get Hot. I drizzle Tj's Kalamata olive oil on the top. very easy and quite tasty . the flour tortilla gets ' broth- infused ' which you may or may not like, I do. the basil in the sandwich did not work as well as i though ( I had few other choices --- I have a different TJ's roll-up w turkey still in the refrig for the future ). its difficult to eat the roll up tortilla this way so next time Ill cut the Medallions in 1/4's turned out much much better than I thought. a keeper for me. taste is fine , easy prep Outstanding.

there is one ' savings ' I see : you will be saving transportation costs of moving your OrganicWaste to the land fill. that's worth something but I dont know what that saving might be you can multiply that by any neighborly factor you like each unit uses energy to operate . Compost pile makes its own cost of construction , transportation , decent company profit ? its in each unit. so , the major benefit is " I Feel Good " which is worth something

very interesting idea when I first moved here I began ' working ' on a veg garden using free pallets , 4 arranged in a square was what I started out with . eventually I had 3 , as I had the space. no animal scraps were ever added there , and there were no issues w wild life. that's y background . there is a several towns wide organic pick up , Ive seen the truck traveling around . but be ' aromatic ' Id say , for those that do the organic pick up this might be easier assuming cost // power consumption / counterspace or floorspace works out. im in the ' burbs ,and all homes have yards of some king. it may or may not matter that the result from the bucket is not compost . if placed on your plants , they won't benefit until its compost , in composting w your ' pots ' of plants the stuff would need a nitrogen boost to start ooff but an interesting idea. however , Im skeptical w the implication that this devise is ''' more Green '' [ed.: ' green ' def may vary from time to time ] thermodynamics suggests : "" there is no free lunch '" id be very interested in why the makers think this is ' greener ' than an Organic ( food stuff and leaves , grass trimmings ) Landfill I hope its not a commercial Bait and Switch : 1 ) what comes out of this is probably not truly ' composted ' ie broken down to very simple and elemental nutrients , as far as I can tell 2 ) when you add the processed contents to soil , then that breakdown begins and probably there are some gasses released. add the second step to you total analysis , the ' green ' total effect might not be that different. this is not to say don't use this , you might get stuff for your garden or Pots , which is your personal benefit.

does the APO connect it WiFi directly w the local router ? or does it connect to an iPhone which then connect to WiFi. ? probably the first. but if the second , then all i need is an iPhone that connect to Anova via its WiFi - cellular , and then adds the firmware UD's to the APO if its the later , it would be much easier so then , how long would # 2 take ? time less of an issue w # 1

@Kerry Beal I had that same pizza about that same time ago as long as I mentioned the ' done-ness ' I wanted it was interesting n tasty
-
I have a question for those who ' recently ' purchased an APO : does the oven work w only manual control right out of the box ? ie w what ever firmware Anova sends a la CSO ? tap in cooking method ( steam no steam ) tap in temp , then tap in time and that' it Im not big on WiFi firmware upgrade as my WiFi is resting comfortably in its box. Id like to keep it there
-
@Anna N interesting points . """ Uncovered oven braising also allows the exposed meat to roast and brown '' i don't wish to be picky , but meat braised in a covered pan in the oven browns very nicely. we all know this. and what is ' roast ' : sounds good and is hopefully very roast-ey in the end ... but its really ' baked ' if the oven door is shut. does any of this matter ? not really we all know what these things are . as a Famous Member of the Supremes noted : ( not the singing group , BTW ) '' I know it when I see it ' in response to defining a ' touchy matter '

@Duvel very nice is this the Bean Thing ? I love to hear more about his wn you get the chanxw thanks
-
@Duvel thank you for taking the time to sahre esp. for me the '' on the way to food ' pics stunning as is all the food. imagine 1/2 a day on that bike as a reasonable Speed ! just saying A very small ''USA" Mars Bar or in the olden days : 350 cals 35 mins on the treadmill at 20 % ++ incline at 35 Mins ? bake is better more opportunities to see things to check out and enjoy.
-
@Duvel that is quite interesting . indeed , very interesting thanks ! Texture ? a very proper Schnitzel has several layers of texture but the work for that delicacy was done in the kitchen not your plate my view
