Last dinner of 2021. Sirloin steak, cooked SV then seared, served with baked potato with butter and green beans with butter. A nice glass of 2016 Lodi Zin.

Chicken apple sausage, cooked on the NFG, accompanied by baked beans with brisket (store-bought) and some cauliflower pasta that my wife had for her entrée that I wanted to taste. The pasta was pretty good and didn't taste like cauliflower, which leads me to believe that the other flours (non-gluten) are mostly responsible for the pasta and the cauliflower is an attempt to cash in on the cauliflower-in-everything trend. The sausages were a lot less wrinkled when they were done, but I had to hold them for 10 minutes due to other issues delaying eating. Still tasty though.

And I think I am the "master enabler" of the Ninja Creami! -
Chicken thigh, cooked plain with just a bit of avocado oil in the NFG on air crisp mode, served with steamed snap peas with butter.

Well usually it's sweet potato or mashed cauliflower or fries etc. But Safeway had a 5lb bag of bakers on sale for $.47 so I couldn't resist.

Kids are coming for the holidays and both (along with me) are lactose-intolerant, so I spun a few more flavors of dairy free ice cream. Didn't want to experiment with reduced sugar on them so I went with my old standby of the powdered soft serve mix. Made a cherry and vanilla. Spun both on the standard ice cream cycle, and both are very scoopable after being in the freezer for 16 hours after spinning.

Chicken tenders (naked, but I drizzled some BBQ sauce on after I took the picture), cooked from raw in the NFG along with latkes from frozen, served with peas in butter.

"OMG! He's posting another pork chop with squash and latkes cooked on the NFG?" Hey, I like my rut. At least this time I didn't overcook the latkes or the squash!

Made another batch of peanut butter salted caramel. This time I spun it on the Gelato setting and it came out lovely. Here it is after spinning, with a small spoonful off the top.

I do both. Sometimes I get it from a local takeout (I buy a lot of it), then portion and vacuum pack and freeze it. Lately Costco had some really good char siu (Yang Tze brand) so I have been buying a lot of that and slicing/packing/freezing. But I also make my own. I use Costco's boneless country-style ribs (really just pork but already cut into char siu sized hunks). I use NOH brand char siu marinade powder as a dry rub, then bake and finish under the broiler. Again I make a lot and freeze. Another trick I came up with if you need char siu in a hurry: Take some thick sliced ham (like ham steaks) and cut into pieces. Toss with NOH powder and then broil.

And yet another pork chop on the NFG with squash and leftover latkes also made at the same time. The latkes were a tad overdone and the pork chop was extra-thick so it came out a little dry, but I ate it all!
