  1. You sure are good at it. I took a couple of cake decorating courses once. The one thing you were supposed to master was the Wilton Rose. I never did.
  2. You produce works of art. I'm blown away whenever I see one of your creations. Where did you learn to do all this?
  3. I see you inherited your mother's sense of humor.
  4. I have never seen anything growing in my water tank. It sits on a utility cart in the eating area of the kitchen. It sits in that area along with a stand-up freezer, a microwave stand, a bar fridge and a couple of storage shelves. We don't eat in that space.
  5. I use tap water. I don't do anything with the tank until it is near empty. Then I rinse it out really well, fill it up and put it back on the the unit.
  6. Our current fridge is an LG standard depth door-in-door fridge. The fridge has a storage capacity of 16.7 cubic feet, the freezer 7.8 cubic feet. It is 35 3/4" W x 30 7/8 " D x 70 1/4" high. Those specs are from the manual. This is, by far, the best fridge we have had. Previous fridges were Maytag, Kitchen-Aid (particularly crappy) and GE. The icemaker is small so doesn't take up much space. If I need a lot of ice, I just empty the thing into a bag and repeat. I also really like the door-in-door feature. We keep condiments and other small items we use a lot in there. The back panel is sealed off from the rest of the fridge so there is no cool air loss as would happen when you open the whole door. Highly recommended.
  7. @Dave R This is the ingredient list for one 13" loaf. I follow the same directions as @Cyberider I have a 9" loaf pan also but I seldom use it. 260 g Water 500 g All Purpose Flour or Bread Flour 100 g Sourdough Discard 40 g Butter 20 g Sugar 7 g Dried Yeast 10 g Salt
  8. @blue_dolphin "Lemon ice cream with lemon curd swirl" Did you happen to post that recipe?
  9. Your wife is a smart shopper. USA stands behind their stuff. I had a problem with my 13" pain de mie pan and I wrote to them. They asked for a picture, which I sent, and they sent me a new pan. They did not ask for the one I had to be returned. They are not cheap, but are worth it.
  10. Love the look of those loaves. As for USA pans, once you own one, you'll never buy another brand.

    Bacon Jam

    You can buy jalapeño bacon?
  12. No, when we bought ours the place where I bought it was able to tell us about it but they weren't available yet to buy. I could have liked one.
  13. My cooktop is made by Thermador and I really like it. I also have the Control Freak which I use for some things. I like it too. The CF has wonderful temperature control whereas the cooktop only has 20 settings but it's fine for t g e cooking I do.
  14. A loaf made with sourdough discard, the dough made in my bread machine and baked in a pain de mie.
  15. Welcome to the forum, Evan .
  16. So the guest judges are not former contestants?
  17. We have been taping it but haven't started watching it yet. Who are the judges (other than the regulat ones)?
  18. I wrote to them and this is part of the message they sent: "The recipe you mention was removed by our team as soon as we saw that there were errors in it. We want you to know that we are constantly reviewing our website in order to bring you the most updated and accurate recipes." And remove it they did. Full marks for a speedy reply. I did ask if anyone read the comments on their recipes but that wasn't answered. I'd still like to know.
  19. I'm not much of a snacker. Until, that is, I discovered Snappers at Costco. I can't keep my grubby little hands off them.
  20. I bought some nori for Zeus once. He wouldn't go near it.
  21. I broke down and took out a subscription. I looked for an ice cream recipe I have made in the past which I could not find, but I did find another one. It was incomplete as it listed one ingredient that was not mentioned in the instructions and only part of another ingredient was mentioned. Worse, these omissions was mentioned a few times in the comments sections but the recipe was never amended. The dates of the comments ranged from 2017 to 2022. I would have thought Epicurious would have fixed it. Do they even bother looking at the comments? Kind of disappointing.
  22. What modifications are they making to the BSO, did they say?
  23. I have the CSO. Mine makes lousy toast. I tried it again a couple of weeks ago and it took 14 minutes to make toast, and I had to babysit it. Other than that, it is the oven I use the most. I also have the BSOA. I have used the air function but if I had to replace it, and I would, I would not bother with the air function. I do not have an air fryer. My BSOA makes lousy toast. I have the Breville Smart toaster and liked it a lot. Notice the past tense. It has started toasting unevenly and needs to be replaced. I'll decide when the time comes if I'd replace it with the same toaster, as they are expensive. I may look at the Ninja Flip toaster.
  24. That sucks. How long have you had it?
  25. I just looked for the Food and Wine app. It is only for Apple users.
