  2. clique ici March 19-20, Seattle Center
  3. YEA Neil!! I'm so happy for you. Congrats. Hopefully we'll see you soon either in Seattle or Vegas...
  4. damn straight! Ondine, honey, spoil yourself. be very, VERY good to yourself during this time. it goes a long way to making things better.
  5. that's my kind of thinking jackal...
  6. City Kitchens annual store wide sale is in September. If you want to support local, go there.
  7. I'll have you know this thread inspired me to have tuna tonight....
  8. and which seems to happen for you Rich? mmmmm well I've tried the sex cure, and while it helps, it doesn't completely get rid of it. I once had a riding lesson with a notoriously difficult trainer the morning after a particularly drunken evening. ooo I felt like shit, and I was worried. I knew he was gonna work my ass off. After that lesson I felt like a million bucks. what was interesting was that I actually seemed to ride better with a hangover. course, I always used to ride better after drinking one beer too... I haven't tried the water thing but it makes sense.
  9. This sounds fabulous. gawd, this is making me crave tuna. usual tuna salad: mayo, onion, maybe some celery, capers, kalamata olives, and DILL lots of it, on toasted rosemary bread. gotta have it with potato chips.
  10. How old are you? Youth might have something to do with that... I never used to have hangovers when I was in my 20's. I was incredibly resilent! Best hangover cure: exercise. yep, no matter how badly you don't want to do it, it works.
  11. A variation on this is the tequila slammer. mixed with 7up or club soda. I've done a few of those... *whew* A friend of mine used to call them "foamers" LOL
  12. The funny thing to me is that when I first tried the piadina bread I thought it tasted like the pancakes of my childhood LOL so it was an entirely different flavor than what I expected. now that I think about it, my mom used to cook our pancakes in bacon fat
  13. oh DAMN.
  14. Soda?! I've lived in Seattle for 20 years and I can say I've NEVER associated it with soda! DUNGENESS!! and yes, geoducks, and salmon. And yes, I would definitely say coffee, but not just generic coffee, espresso. Plenty of the better coffeehouses roast their own. And there's a real art to being a good barista. Oh, and micros can't forget those!
  15. Grain Alcohol and Grape Koolaid. called "purple passion" where I went to school. I think people actually dropped dead from drinking it. LOL
  16. Mirror Pond is too hoppy for you Wilson, trust me on this one.
  17. anytime I go to Elliott's, its GOTTA be dungeness!! Or, oysters. It is their forte.
  18. Yes we are, and we are proud of it.
  19. You can stop looking for Big Time. Its a brewpub and they don't bottle. You'll have to go to the source for that one. Go to Bottleworks in Wallingford, and also Whole Foods has a really fine beer selection. One of the best as far as grocery stores go, IMO.
  20. From the websites.... --------------- HARD LIVER BARLEY WINE FEST Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, 7-9 pm FEE: $20 in advance; $25 at the door No it's not a wine -- it's beer. In fact, it's a strong dark beer with an alcohol content that ranges from 9-13% (more than some wines, in fact.) One of only three barley wine festivals on the West Coast, this event is designed for both afficionados and newbies alike with more than 20 breweries -- from Washington, Oregon, California and Montana -- represented. Admission entitles you to ten tastes, light refreshments, a small silent auction and the opportunity to try something new and delicious. Tickets are available at the Phinney Neighborhood Center and at Bottleworks, 1710 N 45th St. For more information, call (206) 633-BIER. HOPS & PROPS: AN ELEGANT MICROBREW TASTING EXPERIENCE (Featured Event) Time: 7:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Forty-five craft breweries from throughout the West will come to the Museum to share their specialties. Gourmet comestibles will be provided by Catering by McCormick and Schmicks, coffee by Tully’s. Guest entry will include music, all sample tastes, food selections, a commemorative tasting glass, an educational tasting guide and access to the Museum galleries. Note: All attendees must be 21 years of age. Identification in the form of a valid photo ID will be required for entry. Tickets are $50 per person. 21. YES! That would be the Grand Tsunami burger from the Corral Drive In. (95th and Pacific Hwy) and its 16 1/2 inches in diameter! Gotta order one a day in advance... but I agree with Hal, its everything a burger from a burger shack should be. YUM. And... for the record, last time I dined at The Ark it was knocked out fabulous.
  22. No, no - Essential Chocolates. Our own chocolate factory and cafe. ahhhhh I see. I knew of no such entity. Essential Chocolates?!
  23. I also heard that... wait a minute. didn't I read it here somewhere?! Essential Bakery is taking over the old Redhook building in Fremont.
  24. dang... I think I might have paid to see that.
  25. its quite easy to see all of them by train. but if the weather is nice you should walk between Riomaggiore and Manarola cuz its an easy hike. the hikes get harder the further north you go. Then is when you take the train Vernazza and Monterosso are nice and probably the most touristy (but that doesn't mean stay away IMO) I gotta second San Gimignano. Loved it there.
