Thanks All for the suggestions. My husband and I have been going to Cape May for about 6 or 7 years for our anniversary - I have recently been converted to a seafood fan hence the request for restaurants. I like crap, shrimp, talapia - nothing to "fishy" I have seen Louisa's and it is definately too late for us to go this weekend. I think we will try either the Black Duck or Copperfish. Friday we will surely be at Cabana's for happy hour and snacks (our ritual start to the weekend) They have a really good panko crusted chicken tenders with 3 sauces. Perfect light meal with some crappy fries. We will let you know how it goes when we get back. I think we are going to try Cucina Rosa's, has anyone been there?

There is a restaurant in Montclair called Fascino - They do a vegetarian tasting menu - We went about a month ago. It was fantastic - The polenta fries were to die for. This is more expensive than Park and Orchard but if you want to go somewhere nice and have more than vegetable stir fry it is well worth it. Sample tasting menu below - they are seasonal so some of the dishes may change. http://www.fascinorestaurant.com/menu_pdfs...mplate(PDF).pdf

Hi All, My husband and I are going down to Cape MAy this weekend and we are looking for a place with really good seafood - place can be fancy or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

From the pic in the paper - It looks like a tiki bar before they actually weave it into place - I could see how you would think that -

I read the below article in The Record about a new Irish Pub opening in Pompton Lakes this June. Has anyone heard anything more about it - The authentic thatch roof they are putting up seems interesting. * I hope this link works * If not the article is titled "Weaving a tradition" in today's online version of the record at bergen.com http://bergen.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3Zj...jd2cWVlRUV5eTM=

There used to be a guy in Montclair that did ROASTED corn on the cob with different butters and seasonings - it was AMAZING and there was always a line for firsts and then a line for seconds. I am not sure what kind of Equipment they used - He was at the Montclair food festival a few years back , did anyone see him or remember what kind of Equipment they used.

My leftover Red Curry was just as good leftover as it was the first time I ate it - I just simmered some snow peas, zucchini and pepper in the curry sauce and made some brown rice to soak up all the saucy goodness and it was yummy..

yes, the owner is so gracious and nice. Food to me , was disappointing although the place is spacious and pretty. Been there 3 times now and was most disappointed with the pad thai. Tiny shrimp, thats a turn off right away. They have some interesting , different fish dishes for a thai place like chilean sea bass. Portion was small and not worth the money. Try the newest Thai in Ridgewood, Ridge Thai. It is small but the pad thai I had for lunch was excellent and the food smelled great. Our favorites are still the place in hackensack wondee, although its a ride for us but worth it because its so inexpensive, portions are huge and its bring your own. And, Thai House in Nyack never disappoints us and we've going there for many years. ← Thank you, Thank you, Thank you - We went to Ridge Thai tonight and we loved it - I had the red curry with Shrimp and I found it just right for my taste - spicy with a touch of sweet - there must have been about 8 big shrimp swimming around in my curry - I kept pulling out more - I can't remember the last time I had a shrimp dish that had more than 5 or 6 shrimp tops if you were lucky. The shrimp was cooked just right and tasted amazing with the curry - My husband had a seafood combo dish, garlic sauce and he loved it - all the fish was cooked perfect. The people who worked there were very nice and at 8:30 it was pretty crowded. I really enjoyed the decor - greens and gold. I am already picturing my leftover curry with some brown rice for lunch (heck maybe breakfast) for tomorrow - We will definitely be going back for more.

Congratulations on the review in the Bergen Record. http:\\www.bergen.com under food dining reviews

Just my humble opinion, but one trip to Jerry's in Englewood would wean you off Dantes forever. About 30 notches up in quality, and actually lower pricing than Dantes!!! That's an unbeatable combination. ← Thanks for the info - I will have to try Jerry's next time out -
-
Baumgart's Cafe in Englewood does a Sunday Brunch that serves french toast, I can't vouch for the breakfast food as I have not been there. Has anyone had breakfast there? Also Janice's Bistro in HoHoKus (is this too far?)

We go to Dante's often when visting the in-laws in Bergenfield. They have great milky mozzerrella(sp) - and great almond cookies - My in-laws are true Italians and they love Dantes mozzerrella - I can't speak for the rest of the stuff since all we get is the mozz and the cookie.

Would love to hear the details on that, Deldino! ← I will post the recipe later today -

Would love to hear the details on that, Deldino! ← Well my Mom looked like a leprachun with her glittery green hat on - (I think the more cosmos she drank (no not a traditional irish drink) the further down the hat got on her head - She was definately in the spirit - My sister in law made the cakes and if anyone loves a good dark moist chocolate cake I can share the chocolate guinness cake recpie, it was really great - - I had to start telling people at 2:00am (yes my Mom included!) that I was going to bed but they were welcome to stay and keep partying. It is a sad day when your 40 and your Mom is still roaring to go and you are going to bed!!

We decided this year to have an open house at home - It was fun. We had all the cornbeef, cabbage and potatos and then we had a italian twist for my Italian husbands side with baked ziti and such - My mother still makes the best soda bread and others brought guiness chocolate cake and irish bailey cheesecake - all great. Irish music, guinness, plenty of food and friends and that is what celebrating St. Pat's day is all about -

Hi! Where is the one in Emerson located? I would love to try it. I am always up for good Thai.

Had lunch today from "A Taste of Thai" on Broad St. in Ridgewood. We all enjoyed our meals. We had Vegetable w/brown rice in Thai Basil sauce, good heat without burning, Chicken w/Red Curry - this was really good in my humble opinion - I like to taste the coconut flavor without it being over sweet - this was just right. Someone had the pad thai noodles - they said the flavor was very good but the dish was a little dry. The owner herself drove the delivery over to us in Fair Lawn, she could not be any nicer. She was very polite and thanked us for ordering and wished us a good meal. Any other feedback on Taste of Thai.

Sounds good - I have heard of from others who have "survived" the crawl. I also have to work but maybe after work. Thanks for the information everyone!

"Be good or be gone!" Andy's Corner Bar totally rocks, btw, though I haven't done a St. Patty's Day there yet. ← Where is Andy's Corner Bar?

Hi - Does anyone have any information on St.Patrick's Day happenings/festivities in Bergen and surrounding counties. We are so happy it is on a Friday this year - more time to enjoy. Thanks

I second that -
