  1. Well, we finally made it to FSS on Sunday. We had some duets, trios, pig outs and chicken fingers for the little one (and they were really good). I loved the beef rib, really liked the baby back ribs, sausage was great and so was the chicken and pulled pork. A couple of months ago I told my brother about FSS and he had remembered when he had to put together an office party. He went up and met Bruce and he had FSS cater the party for about 30-40 people. My brother wasn't sure about how much food there really would be and so in true Italian form he ordered tons of food. Well, guess what his office is going to have another party and they are all asking for FSS to cater it again! Bruce said that they can come with a smoker or whatever and actually cook onsite. Who knows they may do that in future too. Anyway, I don't remember who first posted about this place, but, I'm really glad you did. P.S. The weather was so nice on Sunday that we went across the street in the park and watched a really large barge come in and get unloaded along with numerous boats going thru what I think is called the Arthur Kill. We were also surprised to see so many fish and blue claw crabs in the water.
  2. Jason - Awesome pictures!! Awww, now now you have me wanting rodizio and I just finished some great corned beef and brisket from Nana's Deli in Livingston.
  3. Antonio's is very good. We have eaten there a few times and always left saying how good the food was. I didn't know that they had a party room. Donna Marie, if you go there to try it first, you might miss finding them because they are in the shopping mall on the corner of Franklin and Joralemon Street. It's not hard, but, you might not be looking into the shopping center for them. Here a google link to a map for them. Antonio's Antonio's is right across from the Chandelier restaurant. Hmmm, another one I forgot. The Chandelier is very good too. They are just a catering/party place not a restaurant. I just looked up the Chandelier and they have a website with pricing. Hope this all helps you out. The Chandelier
  4. Yes, that sounds like the place on Broad Street. I was wondering where there party room was. I remember a set of steps going downstairs and then I wondered how your Dad would get down the stairs. An elevator?? I wonder where they have that. I hope you post again after you have dinner there as I am curious if it is the same place.
  5. Do you mean Angelo's that is on Broad street, sorta next to a diner? It's a pizza place in the front and if you go in thru the back they have a restaurant? If that's the one the food is usually very good there. We found that place a couple of years ago and have gone back once or so a year and the food is always good. In fact, just last night we were out with some friends that had gone to Angelo's with us about a year ago and they suggested we should go back there again. Have a great time at your Dad's b-day party!!
  6. Donna Marie, It's been awhile, but, we ate at a place called Seven Hills in Bloomfield and the food was very good and they had party rooms. I don't think it was too expensive and I know that they had buffet and dinners. Just a thought for you.
  7. Ok, I will try the ginger ice cream which will probably be soon as some friends we took there last month want to go back and have wanted to to try the sticky rice. I just love the curry puffs along with the chicken satay. Last time we tried the beef satay and I think I like it better than the chicken. I wish they would bottle that delicious dipping sauce that comes out with the satay. It's clear and has bits of red pepper, cucumber and onions. I could put that on anything. It is just delicious. Tell your friend to keep up the good work, that his diners really appreciate it and by the look of how busy the restaurant is becoming I think they will be around for a long time.
  8. Scott, it's so funny that you should mention the deep fried snapper because a couple that were sitting next to us ordered it. We're not fish eaters, but, the couple that ordered it seemed to really be enjoying it. I love their coconut ice cream! We've enjoyed everything so far and we always try and order different things and they haven't let us down yet. They recently broke thru to the store next to them and opened a market. A really vast selection of Thai items and fresh produce, too. It's just a great place.
  9. We just went to Brookside Thai in Bloomfield again the other night and it was just delicious. It's been consistently delicious since we found it about a year ago and the prices are very reasonable. Brookside Thai
  10. MJP - thanks for posting about Foschini's. I must have passed it a hundred times and every once in a while I think "hmmmm wonder how their pizza is? Next time I'm in the area I will stop and do a take out as I love thin crust pizza.
  11. A bunch of us are going tomorrow night to Solar Di Minho in Belleville. We were there about 6 weeks ago with some other friends and their food is just the best. None of that over salty taste. I think those other restaurants do that so that you get sick of the taste fast and don't eat too much (and drink a lot more) therefore making a good profit on it. Solar's rodizio still only costs $18.00 and for the quality of the meat and selection it is well worth it. Solar Do Minho
  12. Thanks for the info. I was thinking of trying it, but, for just ok Thai not worth the ride. We love Brookside Thai in Bloomfield. Family owned and operated and the food has been consistently great since we first found it about a year ago. I would highly recommend it.
  13. Take a short ride to Bloomfield and go to Brookside Thai. Their food is wonderful and the ingredients are so fresh and abundant that they have open a small produce store next to their restaurant. Someone recommended it to us and we and friends have been back many times and have always thoroughly enjoyed it.
  14. Well, one night if you feel like Thai food I would highly recommend: Brookside Thai at 378 Broad St, Bloomfield 973.566.0057
  15. Curlz - yes, Jyoti is really very good. We've been going there for a few years now and never had a bad meal yet. They are consistently delicious. The name of the crisp flat cracker is Papadum. They can be addicitng. Their chutney and tamarind sauce is always fresh and tasty. I agree with you about using Chicken Tiki Marsala as benchmark for Indian restaurants. It is one of my favorite dishes. I too like Saffron very much, but, it is a bit of a ride out there and Jyoti is really so much closer. Anonymouze - I pretty sure that I've eaten at that little Indian restaurant in Suffern. If it is the same one you must try their Chicken in butter sauce. Just melts in your mouth and so delicious.
  16. If you feel like driving to Morris Plains, Jonathan's is very good. They were rated "Best Pastrami in New Jersey" in the February 2005 issue of "New Jersey Monthly". Jonathan's Kosher Deli Restaurant
  17. Cornellrob - If you want good Chicken Parm or other good Italian dishes and not too expensive at all go to Angelo's Pizza and Restaurant- it a pizza place at 303 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 973-429-8505. It's a pizza place in the front and park in the back because that is where the entrance to the restaurant is. Very good food, good sized portions and the prices are good, too.
  18. phaelon56 - Yes, we tried a Polish restaurant in Wallington last year and the food was really good. The name of it is Krakus Restaurant, 208 Main Ave, Wallington (973) 779-1922. Everything was delicious. Portions were not very large, but, we ordered the Polish platter (which is an entree) as an appetizer. I would highly recommend the goulash with the potato pancake. Just don't order the roast loin of pork - was small in size and nothing to rave about. Here is a link to a google search with the map and there's a post from someone else about eating there - you son't have to just take my word on it. Krakus jwjojo - haven't had that smoke experience at Vivo. I don't recall many people smoking the couple of times that I was there.
  19. I haven't been there, but, a friend of mine was just at The Reserve Restaurant, located at 71 Union Avenue in East Rutherford and she said the food was very good. I would definitely second Teros 224 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst . It is a great spanish restaurant. I've had a couple of really good meals at Vivo Italian restaurant at 316 Valley Brook Ave - (201) 372-0300.
  20. Curlz - Thanks for the info. I will put them on my short of Mexican places to try. My fav is Don Jose on Rt. 10 in East Hanover. There is a new one in Clifton that I want to try and then we'll try Tinga Taqueria.
  21. I would really recommend Segovia's Restaurant 150 Moonachie Road, Moonachie as they have the best steaks and Spanish food in the area.
  22. Jason - you were holding out - LOL:laugh: Hmmmmmm, I think I'm gonna make that pic my screensaver!!!!
  23. Jason - great pics, but, you didn't take one of my favorite items on their menu - the Apple Pancake!! We just love their Apple Pancake. I just tried making them at home and have come very close to duplicating it. I hope next time you go you take a pic and post it for it is something delicious and you don't get it any place other than OPC.
  24. Here's a possibility. Danone markets Ferrarelle here in the U.S. and their home delivery is Sparkletts. I would call Sparkletts and as them if they would deliver the Ferrarelle to your home. Water delivery companies do do that. It's worth a try! "Danone Waters of North America Inc. markets domestic brands Sparkletts®, Alhambra®, Crystal Springs and Dannon®, and imported brands Evian®, Ferrarelle® and Volvic®. Headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., Danone Waters of North America Inc. markets products across the U.S. and parts of Mexico. Sparkletts® Home and Office Delivery is available in Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Washington, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware."
