  1. We will be in Sedona from Aug 10th through the 16th. (one day at the Crand Canyon) Please share your recommendations with me!!!
  2. My husband is a purist who only believes in grilling with hard wood charcoal and has used a Weber for years. He is finally considering getting a gas grill-mostly because I want the ease when we get home at 7pm and need to feed the family quickly. He has done ribs, brisket, whole turkeys for years with the water and wood chips, etc. What recommendations do you have for brands/types of gas grills to buy? We are considering keeping the old broken down Weber in addition if necessary.

    Hamantashen

I've wanting to go over there for the past week or so (I need a botnim americayim fix). Maybe I'll get there early next week. The fig sounds intriguing. Thus far, the plan is one batch of gingerbread-apricot (one batch yields about 70). And I'll make one plain batter and fill those with prune and cherry. I'm going to dip some of the cherry ones in chocolate. ← Is it possible to get the recipe for the gingerbread Hamentaschen????
  4. We like Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, , Middle Eastern. Dinner for about $50 would be great- a little more if it is worth it. Also ecletic/fusion-we are open to anything but steak house or chain restaurants. We will have a car, but will probably want to stay "around town". Thank you.
  5. My daughter and I will be visiting GW, American and U of Maryland this weekend. We'll probably stay in Georgetown. Would you suggest fun/ethnic restaurants for Saturday and Sunday evening and perhaps a place to stay. Your recommendations are appreciated.

    Rosh Hashana

Is it possible to get your carrot, pear, ginger soup recipe? It sounds perfect to begin a brisket dinner!
  7. Good morning. Tomorrow evening (Saturday) a group of 4 would like to dine outside somewhere within 30 minutes of Westfield--but not in Westfield. Any type of food is fine (as long as it is wonderful!) but we would like a patio or garden, not on the sidewalk in front. Thank you for any recommendations.
  8. Meeting a group of friends from all over NJ including a wine maven (who brings for all of us!). Need your recommendations for a great restaurant, not too pricey near the Short Hills Hilton. Thanks for your help.
  9. Loking for excellent chinese in the Red Bank, Eatontown area. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.
  10. We are taking my daughter to JFK tonite for a flight to Israel--need to be there at 7:30pm-coming from central Jersey. Can you recommend somewhere to get dinner that is very close to the airport? The roads will probably be pretty bad by then. Thanks.
  11. We really like a tiny shushi place on Rte 22 in Watchung (right after Ethan Allen). We have also encountered some very good and some mediocre sushi at Fujiyama Mama in Westfield on South Ave.
  12. Jeffrey's in Westfield is lovely-don't know if they are open on Mondays. Cathay 22 is a terrific Chinese restaurant on 22 in Springfield/Union. There is a Grill restuarant-don't know the exact name on the Boulevard in Kenilworth-great Italian and grilled seafood. We have had excellent meals at Ferraros in Westfield. Unfortunately the really great restaurants in this area are BYO.
  13. I will be in Vancouver on Monday and Tuesday for business. With only 2 nights where would you go for dinner that would really show off the innovative styles I've read about. Can I do it w/o going to the most expensive places?
  14. My 13 year old son loves to try any and every type of food. He has asked to dine out on venison--do you have any suggestions for a restaurant in the central part of Jersey that prepares venison. We are trying to keep the price down for this visit if possible. Thanks for the help.
  15. We were there last week--it is constantly busy with incredible waits. Even trying to get "take-out" is difficult as you listen to a busy signal. But...thought the ribs were quite good--meaty and smoky--6 different sauces on the table--excellent biscuits, beans--smoky with meat in them, and the kids loved the "catfish fingers". For a chain we were pretty impressed.
  16. Moon struck?--tell me more
  17. Information does not have a listing for Girasole--I've tried 3 times--anyone know the number?
  18. Iam planning a luncheon in mid December for aprox 65-am looking for a place with elegant food-preferably fish and pasta, with room for a coctail hour--can be BYO--and room for a jazz trio. Scotch plains, plainfield, Metuchen Eidson, Bound Book etc. Please help--We do need everyone in one room. Thanks.
