  1. I agree with you on L'Atelier, and while I do like Hevin's chocolate, right now I am enamored by Jacques Genin's, zzzzzee top Tarek
  2. hmmm. belgian chocolate is probably the sweetest of the bunch, at least to me not counting Marcolini, his chocolate is more "french" tarek
  3. If you venture into Nice in France, there is a guy that makes this fig bread that is far superior than the brand mentioned. he is at the cours Saleya market on Saturdays and Sundays Tarek
  4. Now that I am back, I can report that the caramels I bought from Jaques Genin are pheno-me-nal, as they say Ztop of Ztop of Ztop Tarek
  5. Thanx Margaret, yes they certainly do, but not the whole line. By the way the most pleasant Mr Genin prefers that you place an order by phone prior to showing up at his store as I did, as the place is very mall and not geared to walk ins Tarek

  8. Leonidas just opened a store in Santa Monica, have not tried it yet, but generally Leonidas in Europe is somewhat decent. Unfortunately in Los Angeles, chocolate choices are limited. sigh Tarek Mokhtar

  11. I read somewhere that there was some fanatical French baguette baker who moved to Los Angeles. He supposedly sells his baguettes out of a side door, and supposedly they are fantastic. Anybody heard of this guy? Yes,I believe his shop is called Le pain du jour(?) it is on Pico, in Santa Monica The baguette is very good, I also think that Le Pain Quotidien's(sp) Baguette are also very good Tarek Mokhtar Laguna Beach, CA
