Do Indian instead...Mela is very good. Have tried Mara's for Italian, BYO. If you stick with the specials menu it is not bad...not great. Decent I would say. Went to that California Kitchen restaurant...god awful. Tried a couple more Italian rest. in Ridgewood...don't remember the names..they were terrible! For us, Ridgewood is for Indian.

Today's NYTimes did an article about Zafra and her other restaurant Cucharamama. What a rave!! Forget about Fri. and Sat. nights there now.

Ahhh.. La Isla...a gem. Zafra in Hoboken is also good, but it is not La Isla. I heard Zafra opened a new restaurant in Hoboken that features latin cuisine from varied countries...I heard it was very good...the name is something like Churasco..not sure exactly. I have not gone yet but will soon. Tomorrow night I am dining at what is reported to be the best Italian in Hoboken...Augustino's. I hope so, it would be great to find good Italian in Hoboken.

So many restaurants...... China 46, Wondees, Sri Thai, Beti Kabab, Paisano's, Finks Funky, Amanda's, Daruma Sushi in Rutherford, Mela Indian, India on the Hudson, Corso in Montclair..find it uneven, Tried the new Rest. in Montclair Fastino...good...not great in my opinion. Like Eperney, good not great, Tuptim Thai, used to like 28 a lot, Marra's in Ridgewood is okay, Tina Louise in Carlsdadt...used to be better. To name a few GREAT website...thank you.

I have been to the Petite Cafe several times. It is indeed very inovative cusine (alligator ettoufe), and the owner Maureen is very nice. The service and atmosphere need improvement to compliment the wonderful menu.
