  1. If you took the PATH to Hoboken, how far is the restaurant from the PATH station?
  2. I'm not quite sure what authentic Italian dishes are, but I think La Tartuferia in Hoboken may have some. Why don't you give them a call and find out.
  3. I'm supposed to go to America next weekend. I was just wondering if anyone had any feedback to share.
  4. I live in West Orange and was really in the mood for a sub sandwich last night, but the Mountain Deli, where I normally get my subs, was closed. I could not think of another place to get a good sub sandwich. I prefer a softer bread rather than a hard Italian bread that might be used at a pizzeria. Do you have any recommendations?
  5. Jimmy Buff's in West Orange is still there. Where is Charlie's and the other italian hot dog places you mentioned?
  6. I have visited these restaurants on a Monday in the past. I'm not sure if anything has changed since then: Al Dente - Piscataway Maketa - New Brunswick Taro - Montclair Mojave Grill - Westfield Thai Chef - Montclair Primavera - West Orange Il Capriccio - Whippany Giovanna's - Plainfield Seabra's Armory - Perth Amboy Sonoma Grill - East Rutherford Theresa's - Westfield Arthur's Downtown - Newark Brix 67 - Summit LouCas - Edison Trap Rock Brewery - Berkeley Heights Dai Kichi - Montclair Civile - Kenilworth Deja Vu - Montclair
  7. I'm going to the Beacon Theater (Broadway & 74th) next week and was looking for something in the area with good food that is not too fancy or expensive. I searched on Zagats and found Pomodoro Rosso to be reasonably priced and rated. Has anyone eaten there? Any other suggestions? Thanks.
  8. You mentioned you were going there on Friday night. I see your review for Saturday's dinner, but I did not see anything Friday's dinner.
  9. I'm going to Aspen in a few weeks and was looking for some dining recommendations. I think that some of the higher rated restaurants like Pinons and Renaissance are kind of fancy. I don't think I want to go anywhere that we have to get dressed up. I appreciate your feedback. FYI - Rosie, I posted this on eGullet and haven't heard anything back so I thought I would check with our New Jersey folks.
  10. I will be going to Aspen next month and was looking for some dinner recommendations. I really don't think I feel like going anywhere where we have to get dressed up. I get the impression that some of the better restaurants like Pinons and Renaissance are dressy. Are they? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
  11. Do you know where the owner/sushi chef from the original Fumio's went to? Where is the new chef from?
  12. Have been to La Tartuferia twice in the last month and have totally enjoyed it both times. It can be expensive. They use truffles often and that can hike up the price of your meal.
  13. Do you know anything about the new owner and chef at Due Amici?
  14. I believe someone mentioned this restaurant in an earlier post. Can you tell me what kind of food they have and if the restaurant is supposed to be any good? Thanks.
  15. Drove by and saw they had changed their name. Are there new owners, new chef, new menu or the same stuff with a different name? [JP edit] 115 Bloomfield Ave Caldwell, NJ (973) 403-8500
  16. I would have said Guiseppe's, but I went the other day and they are closed down. It was behind Tony's bar that is next door to Valley Tire on Valley Road.
