Hot damn Ann! Are you shooting a cookbook?

I want to know more about the different hobby involving spoons that let you cram maximum cereal into one's gob

Seconded

This forum needs an "I'm so sorry" reaction. That vague attempt at a "pizza" upsets me.

The real question is who gets the oysters? 😊

I'd be able to afford decent steak, lobster, and legs of lamb again ❤️
-
I hadn't heard of this before but now I need it. RIGHT NOW 🥄

Perfect for dauphinoise. You can probably flog the Matfer for more than you paid for both of them!

I found it weirdly frustrating. I felt like I should have 'grown into it' sort of like how my Ma would serve vile leather and onions when I was young, but once I tried a flash fried piece of liver with onions on toast I was converted forever. There are very few foods I won't or don't eat*, so it feels like a personal failure on some level. *Coriander isn't food!

I found it really difficult to separate the smell from the taste once my brain knew it was going into my mouth. I've tried it a few times hoping to get over it, but no joy. Maybe it's another coriander for me 😄

Thank you all, it makes more sense now. Is it a nationwide chain? It seems to be mostly around California and the South/South-west from what I can tell (my phone hates their website, I promise I'm not being lazy)

I did warn you in my intro post about stoopid questions. What is Trader Joe's exactly? Searching online just pegs it to any other supermarket, but you folk seem to be pretty enthusiastic about it - hence this entire thread - so there must be something I am (once again) missing. What's different about it from err.. I dunno, Safeway?( that's still a US supermarket right?)

Modela with lime juice and a salt rim is one of my favourites. It really hits the spot.

You're not fooling anyone pal, stop eating dinosaur eggs

These aren't recent acquisitions of mine by any means, but since I'm a fairly recent acquisition of the forum I thought I'd share a shot of three of my favourites

I didn't clock the branding at all. I looked too deeply! 😁

Because it's dried? I'm missing something here my man

I'd happily eat it myself, subject to my comments above. -

If it hasn't discoloured and passes the sniff test after 5 days in the fridge I wouldn't be worried at all, personally. I assume it's still within the expiry date? -
Soup spoons are rounder and deeper, so both hold more soup and are better for sipping from (imo)

It's one of mine too, I've often picked four starters I want to eat before getting down to the main courses on a menu

They're just telly aerials, very common sight in the 80s and 90s. There's still plenty around now but they're largely obsolete because of satellite/cable and streaming services, and it's a hassle to get on the roof and take it down.

Used to be able to get vol au vents by the box load when I was a kid. They were de riguer for entertaining guests. I can't remember the last time I saw them for sale
