Had some leftover pulled pork that a friend gifted us so, pulled pork and eggs. With green chilis and some rub

A favorite here, especially those perfect potatoes! Chicken, rice, green beans with bacon and mushrooms.

Mountain lion* in peanut sauce w/ peppers, onion, baby corn. Served with rice. *yes mountain lion aka cougar aka puma aka catamount. There is a hunting season here, this was an adult male taken by my partner. The meat is very similar to pork in texture and flavor and is highly regarded by most hunters as a favorite. They are known to carry trichinae so no med rare steaks.

Capellos gf 5 cheese ravioli, garlic greens, mushrooms and parm. (I thought they were really good. Partner was dismayed at a vegetarian dinner)

Traditional Christmas breakfast in our house- cereal. Seriously. I never buy it but with having 2 houses doing Christmases with a kid, we have to share, so in order to expedite gift opening, cereal. Honey nut cheerios and chocolate lucky charms for them, coffee for me.

Christmas eve dinner was halibut chowder. Step daughter doesn't get seafood unless she's at our house so something from the ocean is always on the menu. Be just partner and I tomorrow for dinner and no plans for food yet. Maybe leftovers, maybe just desserts !

Not the prettiest pic but- halibut chowder with yukon gold potatoes, carrot, onion, cream and a pile of butter. Dill added tableside. Oyster crackers and Brazi Bites.

A once in awhile bf. Sausage gravy, biscuits and egg. Bear bf sausage, Cappello gf everything biscuits. ("Gravy" of cream cheese and heavy cream. It's super rich)

I would love to have one! Have found 2 for sale and the first I waited too long to purchase and it was gone (at a very reasonable sum!). The other was at auction and an eye-opening bid of several hundred more than I was willing to part with. I picked up an old Le Creuset piece for $10 at the same auction so not all was lost.

Yours and mine must be kin somewhere along the line!! My father has always joked that the smoke alarm is my mothers kitchen timer. I called my mother a couple years ago and when she answered, the alarm was going off. I asked what she was cooking as burnt offering this time as I could hear the "timer", a few uncharacteristic 4 letter words from her and she hung up on me.

Ive been GF for a long time and in addition to the above, use McCormick GF gravy packets. (Horrors I know!) They are available on Amazon and I use just a pinch at times. The one issue with the gravy packets and the cornstarch- they can be weird reheated. Texture wise they stay a bit thick/gloppy when reheated. If you are pre-making your braise, stick with the potato starch/instant potato, you will likely be unhappy to serve the reheated braise with the cornstarch. And if not out of place, cream cheese is a fabulous thickener.

Yes please! I am a commercial fishermans daughter and it goes back many generations in my fathers family. Water and fish slime are in my blood ❤️, I spent many a day on the deck and mending nets.

Goose gravy over gf Rummo pasta. Its reminiscent of stroganoff. Goose legs pressure cooked, onion, mushroom, garlic, gravy.

Quick first night home back from vacation dinner- rice, chicken thigh and a root veg medley with parsnips, onion, sweet potato, carrot.

I am the opposite- I want ham and deviled eggs and baked beans full of smokey bacon and a ridiculous pineapple casserole thing for the ham...... Stepdaughter will be with us Christmas Eve and since she doesnt get fish/seafood in her home, its been requested I make something from the ocean. (Ive been pouring thru recipes and nothing is sparking creativity. (Halibut chowder is an option. Last year was clam chowder.)).

@Senior Sea Kayaker do you make your own chow chow?

Wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. Partner did animal style which included grilled onions and sauce.
