I used this recipe: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/272777/baked-parmesan-zucchini-curly-fries/ with one change. I already had the oil going in the deep fryer for the chicken, so after baking the fries for a while and not seeing the crunch I wanted, I dumped them in the fryer basket and stuck them in the oil for a few minutes. Definitely not as healthy as the original recipe, but they were terrifically crunchy.

Last night we had grilled tuna with Thai flavors, rice and smacked cucumber salad. Here's the tuna It is going to be 102 today so I got up early to cook and dinner is already mostly made. We are having cold fried chicken, corn on the cob, salad, spiraled zucchini "fries" and my super secret gourmet biscuits* (* Red Lobster biscuit mix from a box 😉 ) Pictures later on. I bought a copy of Vegetables Illustrated on a lightning deal yesterday, and applied the $10 Whole Foods credit and the $5 PRIMEBOOK19 coupon, so total cost was $4.18, I think. I also got a new grill scraper because my current one is worn out. I went to Whole Foods again yesterday, so I think I might have another $10 credit to use today if anything interesting pops up.

We jumped on ticketmaster last night and scored four front row tickets to today’s matinee of Dear Evan Hansen (not resale, must have been a last minute release). Such a great show! After we went for sushi at Duozo. My niece said this was her favorite day ever. Oysters tamari scallops kampachi carpaccio yuzu yellowtail assorted rolls

Those are some pretty spectacular onion rings. What is your recipe? Last night, linguini with swordfish and burst cherry tomatoes. Recipe from the Blanchard's cookbook. I've never been to Anguilla but if I get there I want to eat at Blanchard's.

Looks like lots of us had shrimp yesterday! I made a spicy grilled shrimp salad with arugula and mint.
-
I use fresh fish. I made fish tacos for dinner on Sunday and trimmed off all the ragged parts and thin pieces before cooking, which I saved for the burgers on Monday night. Last night, crispy chicken with lemony arugula-parmesan salad on top

Last meal of this Cape Cod vacation: lobster rolls. I made scallop rolls too but forgot to take a picture Weather is saying time to go home but it here is a sunset from the other night to counteract that

We did sandwich night last night. I just wanted a BLT Sister had a black bean burger The guys had surf and turf burgers and Snake River Farms hot dogs
-
I have had both. Beyond Burgers are very filling and in my opinion one of the best premade veggie burgers you can buy. I still prefer homemade to Beyond though. I like mushroom burgers, black bean burgers, and tuna or salmon burgers more. I have only had an impossible burger once. I have not eaten red meat in over 30 years (just personal preference). To me, an impossible burger fits my memory of what a McDonald’s quality burger tastes like. I found it a little off putting. My nephew, who eats red meat, has ordered impossible burgers many times at restaurants. He enjoys the taste but says they do not taste like beef. His opinion is probably more valid than mine. Of the two burgers, I think carnivores will find the impossible burger more appealing. The Beyond Burger does not have the texture or flavor of beef (and it does not smell good when raw FYI). Rotuts, from prior comments of yours I think we live near to each other and possibly shop at the same grocery stores. You can can find the Beyond products at Wegmans Westwood and Whole Foods Dedham. I do not think that Roche Bros. stocks them at this time.

We call it summer in a glass 🙂 4th of July feast. Pre-dinner cocktails. Most of the group opted for a cucumber-lime-lemon-gin concoction One person wanted a dark and stormy enjoyed on the deck of the beach house we are renting, while watching the crowds below us. Bruschetta, some with tomatoes, some with just herbs and oil Prime grade ribeye and porterhouse Plated meal: sweet corn, macaroni salad, bruschetta, steak, striped bass, and tuna There was a very impressive fireworks display on the beach later in the evening. I have not looked at those photos yet.

I'm not Liam, I am Liam's aunt 🙂 The recipe is from New York Times cooking. Here is a link: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1012807-grilled-shrimp-and-eggplant-with-asian-fish-sauce-and-mint?action=click&module=Global Search Recipe Card&pgType=search&rank=1 the eggplant was very creamy and tender. I'm on vacation on Cape Cod at the moment, and have been taking advantage of the delicious local seafood. Last night I made steamer clams grilled swordfish that I topped with a tomato-anchovy salsa and served with some local greens

Provincetown, the "Outer Cape," and Wellfleet Too
liamsaunt replied to a topic in New England: Dining
Saturday we ordered takeout at my nephew's request. I dislike takeout, I feel like the texture of the food is impacted by the carryout containers. But there is a pizza place in Wellfleet that serves all of the junky food he likes, and there's no crustaceans on the menu so he can have fried things from there. So, we ordered from JB's Pizza for him and for my niece. Cheesy garlic bread Jalepeno poppers Baked spaghetti and meatballs Steak bomb pizza My niece ordered a teriyaki chicken salad. Why they put american cheese on it, I could not tell you. She was not impressed. The adults ordered seafood from Catch of the Day. Fried clams Fish aandwich Steamed littlenecks Linguini with clams Fried lobster roll Lobster salad roll Everyone agreed that the food was pretty meh, except for my nephew, who thought his food was fantastic. Yesterday we went to Provincetown for the blessing of the fleet. We had lunch at Local 186, again at my nephew's request. Geez that kid always gets his way. Drinks The alpine burger (sautéed onions and raclette cheese) The Brit burger (onion strings and pub cheese) Lobster sliders Antipasto sandwich (eggplant, roasted peppers, tapenade, artichokes, goat cheese, basil) Finally, this morning my sister and I took the teens to breakfast at the Fairway in Eastham. Cannoli-stuffed french toast Caprese omelet Potato pancakes and poached eggs Blueberry pancakes We stopped at a fish market on the way back from breakfast and picked up local swordfish, local tuna, and local steamer clams for dinner tonight. It should be an excellent feast.- 699 replies

Last night we returned to Mac's Shack. I did not get pictures of everything, but here is a sampling. Drinks, from left to right a mescalito (basically a margarita but made with mezcal instead of tequila), a gin spin, and a great white (a kind of frozen drink made with coconut rum. My brother in law said it was VERY strong). Oysters Tuna crudo Nigiri. This was striped bass and I think fluke Tuna crudo (this was SO good, I wish I had ordered my own instead of sharing with to other people!) My nephew's allergy burger. He actually ordered a salad and ate it! Proscuitto wrapped cod over risotto with wilted arugula, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic reduction The big mac roll (spicy tuna, avocado and apple, wrapped in tuna and topped with tuna poke salad) Grilled striped bass over udon noodles in a Thai coconut curry broth -
Provincetown, the "Outer Cape," and Wellfleet Too

We are back in Wellfleet for a few days before moving to a beachfront home one town back (Eastham) for a week. We came out early to avoid the madness that is Cape Cod traffic the week of the 4th. Once we are in Eastham we will not be leaving the house and its beach other than for supply runs and one planned dinner out. Our view I went to PB Boulangerie for some treats our selections strawberry tart, chocolate tart, citrus tart, and raspberry couer de creme- 699 replies
