Perhaps at Bargetto Wineries? This is all such happy news that it deserves a glass or two ... the tasting rooms ...
-
Good news indeed!!
-
somewhere in here are some tips on using schmaltz and then a few ideas here as well ... and here too! In chopped liver, it is exquisite!
-
Your newsy information is a blessing to those who live in these towns .. perhaps a harbinger of good food things to come??
-
three crow recipes ... and the wine pairing would be??
-
a bit of historical reference on what was in humble pie originally: and back to the perfect wine pairing for potted crow, s'il vous plait?
-
While the restaurant scene in Charlotte is decidedly mixed, doesn't the very presence of three, count 'em, three, Dean and Deluca's mitigate or calm the painful sting of provincialism? There is no, repeat, no, D & D in Atlanta ... only Eatzi's .. anyone got an Eatzi's in their towns in the Southeast??
-
And now, back to food! recipes .. really! I myself prefer the recipe for "potted crow" ... it has panache! Tastes just like chicken ...
-
As I frantically scanned the crowd during wide shots, I thought I saw Bloviatrix and Blovie snacking on their prized knishes ... sorry, Bloviatrix that I could not find you ... if I even knew what you looked like ... and that your Yankees won't be in the series this year ...
-
Okraphobic ..what do you see in this stuff anyway?

recipe for Peanut Soup with Okra Croutons Never even thought of this ... -
Only thing more expensive than a knish in flight? Alex Rodriguez face ... and arms and hands ... now those are no doubt insured by Lloyd's of London ...

right here with Poche's at the bottom of the page

So, let me guess, the camel is no longer a viable option now, Molly? Thanks for a cool thread!

Maybe the line of armed riot police on the field during the last part of the game was to fend off, with their plastic shields, flying mustard-covered kosher knishes (a dangerous, formidable missile when hurled with great force and dismay ) from Alex Rodriguez' shayna punim (pretty face)?

While an interesting article, I think these so called high-minded, self congratulating, sanctimonious individuals are a merely a modern recreation of the old fashioned "hobo" ... and I doubt that they even consider that there are numerous "food banks" who also inherit, and distribute, unused, uneaten foods to those requiring assistance.. There is a bit of a nonsensical argument framed here ... So, forgive and overlook my cynicism but this article smacks of something of which I am exceedingly skeptical ... But wait just a moment, this article is dated May 27, 2003 and, perhaps, by now they have seen the error of their thinking and are law-abiding taxpaying citizens who have registered to vote in the upcoming election ... or maybe they are still chewing on those dry aging donuts ...and grousing about "the system is inherently destructive" ...

I have lived in Atlanta something like 27 years now and frequently ate at some of these "classics", including the often/much touted "Coach and Six" on Peachtree ... yes, it was a vigorous restaurant town then, and you are correct, it has developed even more expansively/extensively now .. stretching out to the suburbs with some amazingly good food choices, almost as far north as Chattanooga ... Thanks, Dignan, for your "historical perspective"!

Thanks for the link, FG!

I really laughed at your choice of the word "humburger" .. whether a typo or Freudian slip, it is perfect!! I personally am a currently closetted shrimpatarian
-
I most certainly appreciate everyone's input on this subject and, while I realize it is indeed difficult to say negative things about dining options in smaller towns, I think the insight one gains is well worth the exploration! Hopefully, others will join the discussion and focus on some of the excellent points made here .. I agree that Atlanta was no different in terms of the restaurant choices .. that has all changed, markedly, after 1996 when the Olympics were here in town ... much growth followed that, for which I am quite grateful!

update on this thread ... Looks like it may be working .... Would you go to McD's for the Leaning Tower Italian and bypass (sorry, President Clinton!) the Quarter Pounder with Cheese??
-
My understanding is that the enzymes are more abundant in immature garlic ... so clearly this is a case of age being preferable .. not unlike us older women ...
-
the blue or green color is caused by an enzymatic reaction and is perfectly harmless. possibly an answer??

Well, the usual combination of clam chowder just begs for those oyster crackers ... but I also like saltines with my vegetable soup ... and matzo farfel in chicken soup ... -
True to form, GG does often exhibit her off-beat and occasionally bizarre penchant for finding the "perfect" link on how we really ought to eat .. although I have been known to ignore such sage advice personally from time to time ... well, more than time to time really ... For those of you who have gotten a kick from this link and subsequent thread, truly glad you enjoyed it! If you hated it? GG has left the building ...
