We are hosting a large party, just west of Altoona, and we are looking for someone who caters barbeque (or cooks it on-site). We have found Clem's in Port Matida on the web. Can anyone vouch for the quality of Clem's? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Clem's is as good as you will ever have. Go for it!

If Port Matilda is the one near State College, I must respectfully disagree based on the 2 visits I've made. Both times it was awful--I had the chicken leg quarter and pulled pork sandwich. The meat (both chicken and pork) was soggy and stringy, and the pork had an odd gamy flavor that was quite unpleasant.

Just my experience there...

I'm not sure where Altoona is, but there's BJ's Pit Barbeque and Pub in Danville and Sellersville which is great. The smoked chicken and pulled pork is fantastic and they have awesome Mint Juleps. They may also be able to help with some music, as they play sulty blues all night long. It seems to be the only decent restaurant in Danville, where I spent a couple weeks while my Mom was at Geisinger Medical Center.

Methinks you had a unique, bad experience. Every visit to Clem's for me has meant superior 'cue.
