Chocolat a Seattle

Has anybody tried the chocolates at Venue in Ballard?

I've been tempted by some of the flavors (yuzu!) but haven't had a good excuse to buy chocolate recently. (Who needs one? But I'm far less likely to buy some for myself unless I'm going to give a gift to someone else).

I went to this media event at Chocolate Box and had a ball tasting pretty much everything they sell. My favourite treat was this crispy peanut butter square coated in chocolate from Sara's (I believe they're from Chicago?) Anyway, they're available at Chocolate Box. That was the only thing I had room for seconds for, considering the generous spread!

i LOVE the Theo bread and chocolate bar...it reminds me of this place in san francisco that used to sell flat pieces of fried sourdough bread with dark chocolate on them. sourdough and chocolate are so interesting together.

i also like the chocolate dipped marshmallows sticks at chocolati, because even though they're not homeade marshmallows and not necessarily totally gourmet with super fancy chocolate (they use guittard), they are really great to have a couple in the car for when you hit traffic and then say"oh, i can have a marshmallow lollipop" and then smile and enjoy.

Oh, you need to get over this! The good excuse would be that you haven't had a yuzu chocolate (at least that would be good enough excuse for me), and *need* to know what it tastes like!

That's my problem... I have had a yuzu chocolate :) just not theirs.

It would likely be different than the mediocre Japanese chocolate I've had, I'm sure.

OK, I'll put it on my list of things to do...
