I have been to:

Wild Ginger- Very nice, well executed food. Eat at the bar

Mistral- Still my favorite in Seattle

Dahlia Lounge- Pretty Good, but not too exciting.

Cafe Juanita- Best Eastside place, great stuff

Nishino- Very nice classic sushi, there are better places in Seattle though

Espresso Vivace- Awesome coffee, by far the best in Seattle.

Red Mill- Very good burgers, great shakes, one of my favorite burger joints.

I still need to make it to Rover's

I've been to all except Cafe Juanita and its been a while since I was at Wild Ginger. When scrat and I were at Mistral, our server told us that not only had they received the highest food rating in Seattle, but actually the highest in the US. The statistical vagaries of the Zagats process aside, thats still a nice prize.

Most women don't seem to know how much flour to use so it gets so thick you have to chop it off the plate with a knife and it tastes like wallpaper paste....Just why cream sauce is bitched up so often is an all-time mytery to me, because it's so easy to make and can be used as the basis for such a variety of really delicious food.

Mashiko's in West Seattle is top notch and very inventive. Our own Col Klink exposed us to it and I owe him forever for doing so. Klink on Mashikos

Other awesome sushi:

Saito's and Shiro's in Belltown: Great all around sushi.

Izumi Sushi in Kirkland: All the great stuff here is in Nigri form. Really great fish and cut generously.

Enjoy!

Roger, please also see the "Sushi-rific" PNW thread:

I just love Saito's in Belltown. Shiro's is also great, but a big splurge (quite expensive).
