A few weeks ago i had dinner at this restaurant recommende by J talbot..ITs very small about 30 tables,almost a hole in the wall.When you enter you are greeted by a charming hostess/waitress and asked whether your table is OK and then given a menu ,where for 29 euros one has 4 to 5 choices from an entree ,main and dessert.ITs tradional cuisine cooked by a japanese chef.You also have a very reasonable wine list by the pichet from small proprioters.

I ordered a foie gras ,followed by kidneys with mustard sauce and a tarte tatin.

THe cuisine was tradional and yet it was different .I guess it was lighter.IT was deliceous .The wine ,a medoc,rich and velvety went beautifully with the meal.

I could not beleive that I was eating like this for 29 euros ,around the corner from la place de l'etoile.ITs no question that this is the best bargain in Paris.

"Best" is an opinion, although I am sure it is "one of" the best values in Paris at the moment..

Of course its a personal opinion like everything else ,specially when it comes to food and wine .IT will be interesting to come up with a list of restaurants that are ranked based on rapport qualite /prix.Do you have some suggestions.?
